Help needed with dds long fine hair

Dd is 4 and starting school soon. Her hair is nearly waist length and fine. Every time it's tied up within about an hour she looks like she's been dragged through a hedge.
Any tips on how to get her hair to stay up?
I was wondering if getting a few inches cut off the back would help.

I'd definitely cut it to be honest.

My DD is the same age and hers was like that until I got it cut Smile

But I'd suggest a tight French plait. It will work loose but stays in better than anything else IMO.

Thank you. I've taken her to have her haircut today. The hairdresser suggested hair spray and non snag hair bands so fingers crossed

2 plaits or bunches work better than one plait or a ponytail ime. Dd had the same thing and I found that not pulling it to the back of her head in a pony helped loads, lessnfistance for it to spring out of if 2 bunches or plaits
