Having a lot of breakouts - is the dermalogica one worth the money. Sore and painful spots - any advice appreciated (late thirties)

I use Sudocrem if I get spots, works for me

mintbiscuit · 23/08/2017 11:21

Benzoyl peroxide 5% but it will really dry out your skin.

If spots are painful sounds like they might be cystic acne? If so, would recommend trip to GP if BP doesn't work. (Cystic acne in your 30s may indicate hormonal imbalance)

Zap Zyt but only available in the US.

I've had success with the dermalogica microabrasion stuff. But I've never had better skin since switching to sanctuary spa illuminating moisturiser. Not too expensive either. I recommend it to everyone!

Thank You mintbiscuit what would a gp prescribe. I have a feeling it is hormonal - hair much oilier and had my make up done recently and the beautician said it was hormone related. The pill doesn't agree with me.

Second BP. I use acnecide but you only need a little bit and moisturise afterwards

MrsMarigold · 23/08/2017 13:04

Acnecide use sparingly every night on the whole area. Amazing stuff.
