How about pink?

What's a good flattering length for a top heavy 5'8 size 14 no hips or butt person? Slim ankles.

Are they still a thing? In my mind it would go out of fashion v quick... Or may metallic skirts are here to stay!

Not sure if they're in or not. But in my head I envision myself wearing a band shirt, biker/denim jacket, converse with these skirts

I've got a silver one and an orange one, both from M&S (believe it or not...) £35. Decent value.

I'm tiny at 5ft and a size 6. Very slight, no arse Grin

We've just come back from Italy and I wore both loads, I varied the tops and shoes, but generally wore wedges. I've worn the orange one with my silver Superga's. I'm 45.

Love both of mine, I can see me wearing both loads in winter, but I do get the tights comment.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. In my opinion wearing converse with a formal skirt is too try-hard because it's calculated to look effortless, like you've "just slipped any old shoes on". If you are wearing a metallic, pleated skirt it is fairly formal, so in my mind ballet flats or heels go better with it and don't stand out as much as converse would. It's like the brides who wear converse with their wedding dress, it just doesn't work. Just my opinion. As for the skirt, I think it's lovely.

noodlezoodle · 24/08/2017 00:26

I think that sounds like a great outfit! I'm a similar size to you, bit taller but with an enormous arse, and I love my pleated skirts. I tend to go up at least one size so that they don't cut in on the waist and then fan out over my hips, but if you don't have big hips or bum that's probably not necessary.

I wear mine with ankle boots or skate shoes, but have been meaning to get my converse back out and try them. I think that definitely makes it into a daytime look rather than a 'going out' outfit.

Circumlocutor · 24/08/2017 01:40

'I think pleated skirts look good no matter what size you are'

Nah. A pleated skirt makes your arse looks two sizes bigger than it actually is and can make a normal sized pair of hips look really dumpy from the back. Imo pleated skirts only work on the snake hipped.

CheckingMyPrivilege · 24/08/2017 02:16

noodlezoodle Yeah I really don't go out anywhere except uni. That's why I was thinking of the converse/sneakers. I don't have big hips or bum, all my weight is on top - but sadly not in my boobs! Just arms and tummy and face.

Yuck

I'm sick of seeing this look it's so common where I live it looks like a uniform

I know a couple of people with skirts like this. One wears hers with biker boots, the other with Court shoes. They both look great. I think converse & denim jacket would be fab (converse, pretentious Confused?) I would love to wear one of these, but even at my slimmest, pleats don't suit my hips.

Deathraystare · 24/08/2017 12:22

My manager is wearing one today. She is very slim and it suits her. Damn her!!
