How do you apply eyeliner close to the inner corners?

I've always applied eyeliner- use Bobbi Brown gel liner (in a pencil thing) - but stop halfway across my eyelid (upper lid.) I now think this doesn't look so good but the end of the pencil is too thick to do the inner corner and looks weird.
Tried holding my eyelid taut but that doesn't work. Is the answer a brush and pot of eyeliner and should eyeliner go right across the lid?

I probably go about 2/3rds of the way across. If I'm using pencil, I focus the tip into the eyelash line, to give a tight line effect. This can stop the inner edge of the line from looking too thick. Smudging the line with a finger or special brush can also help remove any excess. I can built up a bit more colour after that, eg. on the outer corners.

Make sure your pencil is really sharp, start from the outside and work your way in. Taper the line as you get towards the nose.

Does that help!?
