For me I'm thinking skinny jeans, t shirt and mac with slip on trainers and cross body bag

DD 5 - top, leggings, trainers, cardi and mac (we'll use her rucksack for water, tissues, wipes etc).

What else will I need?

Personally I wouldn't wear jeans. When they get wet on water rides they take ages to dry and you'll be uncomfortable. I would wear Cotten trousers or leggings.

DubiousCredentials · 20/08/2017 16:44

Shoes that don't fall off of your feet are dangling off a ride.

Will slip on trainers be secure enough on fast rides?

PNGirl · 20/08/2017 17:04

Which theme park? I ask because there is a lot more slogging about in the rain at Alton Towers due to its size than at some of the others. If I were going to Thorpe Park which is quite small with lots of undercover queues I'd probably skip the mac and wear a thin hoodie instead, because to me they're a bit sweaty and uncomfortable all day.

Pinkvici22 · 20/08/2017 17:12

Thanks for the tips everyone. It is Alton Towers, but CBeebies Land bit. Won't be fast rides...think DD too young!

Def not jeans if it's raining or on water rides they take too long to dry and get very uncomfortable. At Legoland I wore light cotton trousers and they dried off in 10 mins.

I was there yesterday! I wore hush cropped trousers (really light fabric so easy dried), t shirt, parka and Stan smiths. It was a nice day mostly but it absolutely lashed down at one point so I was pretty glad to have had the parka. Boys wore trainers, joggers and t-shirts and we had raincoats for them too. We went mostly for CBeebies land, the octonauts ride and the night garden one had the big queues so would recommend you hit them early if they are of interest.

Oh we also went to the pirate themed bit and there is a really good aquarium there which is great to pass some time in if it's raining.

Happy50 · 20/08/2017 22:51

Easy change of leggings and socks for your d s as children often get wet on the rides
As others have said jeans are really uncomfortable when wet and take ages to dry
I wear layers with a fold up cheapie Mac from tesco in my bag
Sun cream, sunglasses , sun hat - all the usual
I always bring my kindle hen waiting around

Jeans are horrid when wet. You will likely have wet feet too. Buy a couple of 50p clear ponchos from Wilkos or £ store so you can cover up and discard afterwards.
