Double Wear

Tried a sample of this recently and it seems nice. I usually just wear No 7. Is the Double Wear really worth more than twice the price? Will it change my life? Grin

In a word .. yes Grin I have used it for about eight years now and from time to time get bored and try something new... always always return to Double Wear as nothing can beat it Grin its the longest wearing, best coverage, widest range of colours. Great on holiday where it's hot and humid and also great for long long days at work. I am a Double Wear evangelist 🙈 Recently picked up a bottle for £25 at duty free so doesn't have to be the full £30+ either

TeachesOfPeaches · 19/08/2017 11:36

I use it and it's brilliant and completely worth the money.

userofthiswebsite · 19/08/2017 11:38

It is wicked as they say. Apply it with a Beauty Blender and it looks great.

I use DW light for every day stuff as it is buildable and I find I can get a decent medium coverage with the use of a good blendable or translucent powder over the top. I have never used the DW myself (nor the No.7) but I have had it on my face!

I have only had proper DW used on me by make up artists but they all seem to favour it (or the ones I've used do!). It does a really good job of giving great coverage and that stuff does not come off. I was still removing it three days after my wedding last month despite many many make up removers and face washes! I am very fair which apparently suits DW (according to my make up lady!) so I can't comment on how it looks on darker tones. I really liked it as it wasn't sticky or heavy, but for me I wouldn't wear it every day unless I really needed or wanted that level of coverage. I prefer the light version but I'm not massively invested in make up on a daily basis just because I don't think the cows and horses are that bothered!

I'm another one, something I swap to no 7 or Mac and always back to double Wear.

bitofabelly · 19/08/2017 11:42

Is this Estée Lauder double wear?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/08/2017 11:44

Sounds like a 'yes' then!

What is a Beauty Blender?

I have a bit of a tan at the moment, so will wait until it fades and then go back and get tested for my usual pale as death sort of shade.

It's the worlds most used foundation for a reason! Great for oily skin but still works on dry skin with a good primer (I use Nivea Men's sensitive aftershave!).

Love it for me as I touch my face a lot but it still doesn't come off during the day!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/08/2017 12:15

I'm a face fiddler, so that's useful to know. I wear Porefessional primer, which I really like, when I'm in funds, and No 7 (which isn't bad at all) when feeling less flush.

I use Estée Lauder illuminating primer, DW and concealer followed by Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. It really is a flawless, long lasting combination. I've just run out of DW and also have a tan so I'm a dilemma when to buy.

Ulysses · 19/08/2017 12:25

You really only need a 5p size amount as well so it's really good value.

MumBod · 19/08/2017 12:26

It changed my life, all right. It gave me acne.

No7 Stay Perfect is the best foundation I've ever used.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/08/2017 12:36

Stay Perfect is what I'm currently using and it's fine when I put it on, but it definitely doesn't last the day, even with primer.

The new DW water fresh is good if you prefer a non-matte finish to your foundation. I like it as it's not quite so heavy, I tried a sample and off to purchase a bottle of it in a bit!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/08/2017 14:41

Thanks. Think I might just get the matt one. Will see what nice lady in store says, once my tan's worn off!

Beauty Blender www.beautyblender.co.uk/product/beautyblender_classic_single_-_new_packaging/

A fancy sponge that you use to apply the foundation and means no streaks or splodges. I've just replaced mine, had the previous one for a year. The replicas sold in Boots etc for a fiver are not as good as the original. Much better than fingers / fancy brushes which I used before I heard about the BB.

PS make sure you are well moisturised before applying the DW. If I wasn't the foundation felt oddly tight on my skin.

JDSTER · 19/08/2017 15:51

I tried a sample of No7 for about a week but no contest between that and daywear- much prefer daywear. The colour is a perfect match for me, doesn't change colour or oxidise and I only need a tiny bit.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/08/2017 16:09

Thanks again, all. :)
