Can we talk tights?

The nights are starting to draw in and the summer sales are almost over. Time to start thinking tights.

It seems a bit soon to be heading for black opaques just yet. Has anyone found an in between? Previous autumns I've had oatmeal cable knit tights which have been snug and lovely but I haven't seen any yet. Too soon?

I hate 10 denier nude tights, only because I always ladder them. Any sturdier options?

And what do we think about patterns?

I'm looking for the holy grail really. Tights that stay up and last more than a few wears. But I'd like them to be stylish too.

I wear m&s patterned tights they have some nice ones have them in black navy and plum not too thick don't fall down and seem to last ok. It's a bit warm for me to wear tights yet and my legs are awful but can't wait to get back into my little dresses and tights soon.
Sorry not much help but hope you find what you're looking for 😊

Shear hold ups, last twice as long as when you ladder one leg it's only half a pair to replace. Recommend ASDA 2 pairs £4 look like your not wearing any

micro fishnets in just a bit darker than skin colour.

M&S 40denier, go up to 60 then 100 as it gets colder!

NC4now · 18/08/2017 14:42

Ooh I like the micro fishnets. Good thinking.

I can't wear hold ups for more than an hour or so, sadly. The sticky stuff gives me blisters. Traditional stockings could be an option I suppose.

I don't know if they still do them but I had some microfishnet tights from M&S last year, cost about £5 and a very nice dark nude colour.

What drives me MAD about tights is that my toes ALWAYS go through the tight on the first or second wear. And no, I don't have long or raggedy nails. Every time I chuck another pair in the bin, it's like I'm paying a £1 a day for the privilege of wearing tights.

NC4now · 19/08/2017 00:07

I get holes in the tops from pulling them up. But the toe amputation is bad too.
I really resent the cost of tights, for how few wears you get out of them.

I have started wearing netball pants or cycling shorts on top of my tights and now I never have problems with them falling down. Cycling shirts stop the horrible thigh rub some tights give me as well.
