Teenage boys trousers

So Ds1 is turning 12 soon, and has pretty much grown out of all his 11-12/12-13 clothes. Tried some 13-14 trousers with adjustable waist on the other day, length was great but even on the smallest setting still fell down. Which brands are best for slim fitting trousers? Cheers

Try Hennes

eyebrowsonfleek · 17/08/2017 13:35

Next sell them by waist and length and reasonably priced (about £25)

eyebrowsonfleek · 17/08/2017 13:36

That's adult men section not the kids.

petalpower · 17/08/2017 20:04

Boden? We used to get DS trousers from Johnnie B.
Gap are also worth trying.

Unescorted · 17/08/2017 20:07

M&S and Tesco both did slim fit last year - not yet checked this year.

NotAnotheChinHair · 18/08/2017 07:17

For my 13 YO DS I go for:

H&M size 13-14Y
Next size 14Y older boys or 28"/30" skinny cut from mens section
Boden size 14Y
Gap XXL (13+)

It's a pain as you mostly have to order online as most shops don't stock those sizes.

BanyanTree · 18/08/2017 09:03

GAP do up to 16 years and we recently bought DS12 mens GAP 28" 1069 jeans.

This in-between age and size is a nightmare!!

EnglishRose1320 · 19/08/2017 10:36

Thanks for all the replies, shall have a look at these.
Tesco Slimfit are too wide have tried them.
Haven't tried Next recently so will have a look at them again.
He likes H&M tops but haven't yet found trousers he likes in their, will keep looking though.
Don't shop at Boden or Gap often so forget about them, will look now thanks.
Have never heard of Hennes so will have a Google.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Try zara too.

SoupDragon · 19/08/2017 11:38

You have heard of them - it's what the H in H&M stands for :)

SoupDragon · 19/08/2017 11:39

Esprit is worth a look, as are men's trousers where they come in length/waist rather than size.

Polichinelle · 21/08/2017 17:23

Same problem here and I find GAP sizing quite odd. I recommend you go with him and he tries them on.

Polichinelle · 21/08/2017 17:24

I have found the local tkmaxx to be the best. They have so many different brands that invariably one will fit

EnglishRose1320 · 21/08/2017 22:16

Soupdragon- googled straight away and realised that yes I did indeed know whole henne actually were!

Polichinelle- will try the local tkmaxx when DS is having a cooperative day, he isn't too great at shopping but occasionally will surprise and be enthusiastic.

We have managed to find one pair this week that he loves and are super adjustable, not at all what I had in mind but their we go, a pair from the army surplus store. Will be great for youth club days out in the woods I guess!

Topman sell by waist and length measurements. We had to get jeans there when ds wasn't the 'right' shape for jeans sold by age. Online has a wider range of sizes than instore.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 21/08/2017 22:32

River Island do boys' clothes up to 12 I think, but their mens' trousers are by waist and length; my slim Jim tends to find kecks to suit there.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 21/08/2017 22:33

Also I think Urban Outfitters, and obviously Asos.
