Do shoe stretchers work?

I've seen both wood and plastic on amazon - does anyone know if they work? I have an E fitting foot.

Is a spray a possibility? Thanks Flowers

How much do you need to stretch the shoes? Have you tried the stretching technique of putting on thick socks, putting on the shoes and blow drying the outside whilst bending and moving your foot around? The heat from the air and the movement really works.

In my extensive experience, no. I am also very wide of foot, and have spent so much money over the years on shoes/boots which are just a tiny bit too narrow - I have wooden stretchers, the spray, and have tried the hairdryer trick mentioned above. You might get a few extra millimetres, but I don't think it makes enough difference really.

Entirely depends on the shoe. I've successfully stretched some Majorcan sandals to a size larger but I would say that boots or anything particularly hard wearing would be difficult to stretch
