Where to find a pre loved Chanel bag

taytotayto111 · 15/08/2017 20:57

I'd love a classic Chanel bag but pre owned as I could never afford new. Where's the best place to go/look. Ideally I'd love to find one in a charity shop etc but assume that never happens, right ?

Chanel bags barely devalue and you would never find one in a charity shop. Wherever you get one from it will cost into the thousands.

Vestaire collective!

StealingYourWiFi · 15/08/2017 21:08

As above they don't really lose value. I bought mine in 2007 and it's more than tripled it's value since then.

This place is reputable and local to me:

Sorry OP, I'm no help whatsoever but I did read recently that Chanel was a better investment than gold due to the price inflation.

PansyParkinson · 15/08/2017 21:31

Another vote for Vestiaire!
Or if you're on Instagram, have a look at webuydesigner

Thanks everyone, I'm prepared to pay up to 2.5k. My husband doesn't know. Is that wrong lol. I was thinking of getting an interest free credit card over 3 yrs then paying it off monthly. Otherwise the bags will keep climbing while I save. Am I mad or what ?

BigGreenOlives · 16/08/2017 08:18

There's a shop within Liberty's that sells them.

StealingYourWiFi · 16/08/2017 10:19

If you're in a financial situation to be able to afford the payments and it's something you've wanted for a long time then why not?

pasturesgreen · 16/08/2017 10:19

I came on here to suggest Vestiaire too!

However, can you comfortably afford the repayments? I have no wish to piss on your parade and I love a designer bag as much as the next woman, but going behind your DH's back and putting this sort of purchase on a credit card makes me feel slightly queasy

taytotayto111 · 16/08/2017 16:21

I'd tell my husband first, honest I would. He's very level headed. I surely waste £100 a month on rubbish/coffees and eating out. He works in finance so would be brutally honest with me regarding repayments etc.
Would anyone ever buy privately or is that too much of a risk?

Designer Exchange. Have branches in London, Manchester and Birmingham I think

What sort of used Chanel could you get for £2.5k? Maybe a WoC?

SuffolkBargeWoman · 17/03/2023 19:25

@AnnasPride @JackGrealishsLegs
The OP was asking about bags five and a half years ago.
She's probably found one by now.

SuffolkBargeWoman · 17/03/2023 19:27

Actually @@AnnasPride , I've just realised what you're up to.
Reported.

JackGrealishsLegs · 17/03/2023 20:15
