Is anyone up to answer an urgent trouser query?

I'm about to take up a pair of trousers, to wear to new job tomorrow. Which of these pictures is the current / fashionable length, only just showing ankle, or about 2 inches above?

Sorry for the awful photos!

The length of the trousers in the first picture are spot on.

Good luck for your first day.

FizzyFeet · 14/08/2017 23:32

I'd go for the slightly longer length. Disclaimer: am not a fashionista!

MulhuddartDrive · 14/08/2017 23:33

I would go for the first, slightly longer leg. But I don't know if I'm anywhere near fashionable!

BillywigSting · 14/08/2017 23:34

For looking professional the longer length, for looking on trend, the slightly shorter

Floisme · 14/08/2017 23:36

I can't say regarding fashionable but I think the thinnest point of your ankle is the most flattering so, if it was me, I'd go for the slightly longer length on the left. Good luck in the new job!

How odd - I was out with my 18yr old, waiting for our food in quite a busy pub this lunchtime, and she asked me "Why do old people have their trousers so short" Grin
She has formed a theory that "old people" (not sure if I'm included in that or if you have to be retired??) have trousers that ride up when we they sit down.
So I'd definitely go for longer length - potentially even longer than the first one - for 'fashion', and, for 'formality' (presumably for an interview?) I'd also go for the longer length.

MrsFionaCharming · 15/08/2017 00:11

Ha! I'm 25, so hopefully not an 'old person'!

It's not an interview, I went full pencil skirt and suit jacket for that, and was by far the smartest dressed one there.

Thank you all, you're far more helpful than DP who couldn't understand why they needed taking up in the first place.
