Gained weight - dressing for my shape.

This year I have gained a lot of weight, I am doing something about it but it's slow going.

I am going to a festival this month and need to find somethibg to wear that will flatter my new shape.
I would usually wear short shorts and a crop top but dobt know what to wear now.

I am a size 12, larger end, carrying ALL of my extra weight on my belly and boobs.

I don't mind something that flashes a little bit of cleavage in an attempt to draw the eye from my belly.

What can I wear? What shape shoukd I be lookibg at? Woukd rather not wear a dress due to all the dancing I intend to do.

Bump for the day crowd, I can't go in my birthday suit!

I am bumping you because I would be interested too. I'm about 2st overweight, 80% of it on my belly, around a 14. It's all gone on in the last 12 months. Fitted stuff is making me look matronly and looser things like a sack of potatoes at the moment. I need a meanwhile wardrobe until I get myself back to where I think I should be.

NachoAddict · 15/08/2017 13:22

Exactly, a meanwhile wardrobe!

The clothes i used to wear aren't very flattering at the moment but then I don't know where to start.

Can I join you. I have a thickening middle and need to disguise.
Sadly no cleavage to flash though.
Also a big 12.

I fear we may be on our own, there is no fairy belly mother Sad

Layers... long vests with fitted t-shirts over the top and decent skinnies; long dresses (me&men have a brilliant cap sleeved black dress which is very flattering and laid back); not too baggy sweatshirts (hush sale?) and cargoes? I share your pain...

NachoAddict · 15/08/2017 19:11

Fairy belly mother!! Grin

I was thinking draped tops?

NachoAddict I've been over there looking at that Hush sale and I think notanotherlasagne is onto something - there are some tops n shorts combos that look promising. Going back in for a proper browse.

Nachos...lasagne...mmm

NachoAddict · 15/08/2017 19:44

Lasagne and Nachos is exactly the kind of thing that has got me lookibg at bigger clothes Grin

I am overweight (much more than you!) and would wear:

Denim shorts (but not the arse-showing ones)
With short sleeveless dresses/long tunics with a v-neck to draw attention to boobs or, as another poster suggested, long vests and fitted t-shirts over them

Itscurtainsforyou · 15/08/2017 19:56

Plus cool wellies/trainers Smile

NachoAddict · 16/08/2017 08:12

I have got the wellies sorted, the only thing that still fits 😂😂

longline vest or t shirts make the belly look a little smaller especially with a open shirt or light jacket over the top.
