Nice looking sports backpack

I know this has been asked before but...

I'm looking for a stylish backpack that I can use for running and also day to day/at work. It needs to have the chest clip at the front to stop it from bouncing around as I run.

Adidas/Stella McCartney do some nice ones but they are pricey... I'd consider this if there are no other options available!

Any ideas?!

Same things at mountain warehouse for a third the price!

jemimafuddleduck · 13/08/2017 14:18

Thanks for replying! But are they just the plain, quite boring looking ones? I'm after something a bit nicer but that I can run with too...

Have you tried gymtote? Think they're starting to do rucksacks

jemimafuddleduck · 13/08/2017 17:47

Just looked at Gymtote - they're lovely but don't have the front chest strap for running 😩
Any other ideas welcomed!

It will be fashion or function, you don't get both cheap. You need a hip belt, which surprisingly macartney has designed in.

Perhaps just write her name on a cheaper one? Smile

jemimafuddleduck · 13/08/2017 18:14

Haha! To be honest I don't think what I'm looking for actually exists other than Stella (although I'm definitely not set on that brand, it's just because that's the only brand I've seen who do "nice" looking sports rucksacks)

This is the sort of thing I'm looking for - ideally without the £100+ price tag!

Consider one that's got a piece that keeps the bag off your back. DH has one that he uses while cycling to work as a regular rucksack makes his back really sweaty. It has a chest strap to prevent it from bouncing around

Onynx · 13/08/2017 18:40

What about Jansport backpacks? You'd need to check if they have the chest strap but they have some fab designs

Nice looking sports backpack

Or Jujube do some really nice ones too & they have a sports one.

jemimafuddleduck · 13/08/2017 18:56

Ahh the Jansport ones are lovely but the sport ones are too "sporty" - blue and black only.
And I can't see the sport jujube one?!

Really appreciate your suggestions so far!

Ok - I love bags - this site seems to have sports ones with the chest strap

Ahh those Dakine ones look brilliant!! Knew MN would come up trumps 😊

Have you looked at Osprey? They are proper technical but really well styled

Twinkie1 · 13/08/2017 20:55

Check Lululemon they may have them.

jemimafuddleduck · 13/08/2017 21:48

Thanks both. Osprey is definitely the sensible option as very technical and the pink ones are quite nice... Lululemon are a bit boring must not start looking at their leggings though they're super pricey

Dakine is winning so far but still open to ideas!

Kanken?

BikeRunSki · 13/08/2017 21:59

Roxy?

jemimafuddleduck · 13/08/2017 22:20

I don't think Roxy or Kranken have the chest straps 😕

I have a Gregory one which I love. Great to run in, never ever rubs. It's a bit like this one but pink www.simplyhike.co.uk/collections/gregory/products/gregory-womens-maya-16-rucksack

AngeloMysterioso · 14/08/2017 15:52

Could you get a more stylish bag and just buy some detachable sternum straps separately?

jemimafuddleduck · 14/08/2017 18:18

Angel I hadn't thought of that... I probably could but think I'd prefer purpose-made!

BikeRunSki · 14/08/2017 18:59

Something like this would give you a lot more options.

jemimafuddleduck · 14/08/2017 19:33

Ahh OK, I've never seen that before!! Ok maybe that's a great option for me! Thanks all!

Just spotted this one at Sweaty Betty... they've got another backpack but can't see if it has a sternum strap.
