Suggestions for clothes, shoes make up etc. please. Just arrived in Florence. What are some mid price range shops to buy in, esp for shoes? Have had a brief look
at market and bags look cheap but are they worth it i.e. do they fall apart?

I was there last year and saw a gorgeous shoe shop that I've been trying to find online ever since. It basically had ballerina pumps in every colour and print you can imagine. I can't remember the name, which isn't helpful, but it was on one of the big squares- Piazza della Reppublicca or del Duomo.
The quality of the bags in the markets looked good to me, although obviously it will vary from one place to the next. Lovely soft leather though, which is what I always look for.
Florence is an amazing place- enjoy!

I am told there is an amazing perfume shop called Flor. I've not been, but they have a website with the address.

Had a week in Florence last year. I got a lovely pair earrings at a small independent jewellery shop.
Shoes and handbags are amazing. There is also a chain of shops called Manila Grace and I fought a couple of things there including an orange/red silk scarf. Enjoy and eat lots gelato!

This shop is amazing but more for browsing than buying. www.smnovella.com

The bags in the market are generally good - but avoid the super cheap ones.

Santa Maria Novella pharmacy is a beautiful place to visit, I bought beautiful rosewater and soaps there. I had fun haggling for a leather purse in the market by the train station, the purse is still going strong two years on, in better shape than my Radley one after the same period of use. Have a wonderful time, lucky you!

Aqua flor is incredible www.florenceparfum.it

The leather school leatherschool.biz/en/ for bags and belts, super quality, great value.

Gelateri di neri for the best ice cream in town.

I would not buy bags from the market, they are mostly imported from India not proper florentine leather.

Kiko cosmetics! It's the Italian MAC.

DD bought a beautiful red leather handbag for €40. It is lovely and I am very envious.

For you Doobigetta. Beautiful shoes. They deliver to the UK too. www.ballerette.com. PM me for a 10% discount code.

Magickl, we were there this morning as our Airbnb was next door. Such a beautiful place and gorgeous soaps etc

DD haggled for a bag which is identical to one I saw in John Lewis for £75. She paid £17! Started at £35. Thanks all. En route to coast now in train.
