Facial sunscreen recommendations

I have fairly normal skin but it can be prone to breakouts when I use heavy products and I really dislike the heavy greasy feeling of most sun creams.
I'm looking for a good facial sunscreen that hopefully won't break me out.

Ultrasun spf 30 is the gold standard for me!

muggymum · 12/08/2017 17:24

Got face heliocare ultra gel

ChishandFips33 · 12/08/2017 17:27

La Roche Posay Anyhelios factor 50 ultra light

Use it daily and no break outs

NetflixandBill · 12/08/2017 17:40

I'm using the clinique cityblock which is ok.. not amazing. Watching with interest.

I've just started my second tube of Ambre Solaire Sensitive spf 30. It's for greasy/acne prone skin. I was using La Roche Posay but much prefer this one because it blends in well and doesn't leave your face white. It is really mattifying compared to the other creams I've tried and it has a UVB rating (4/5 stars) unlike La Roche Posay.

It's also only £6 for 50ml which is £10.50 cheaper than LRP! The only downside is the chemically odour when you first put it on. Having just discovered it I live in fear of it being discontinued so I want everyone to buy it!

Thank you. I'll have a look into those mentioned and hopefully be sorted!

I'm trialling the new Bodyshop Spf50 as my HG one (Biore) has a new formulation which gives a white cast. It seems good. I am also trying Shiseido which seems equally good. Both are similar to the original Biore.

SuperBeagle · 12/08/2017 22:58

Shiseido.

I have skin prone to breakouts also, and Shiseido has never caused me any issues. Their sun protection foundation is fantastic too.

UnaPalomaBlanca · 12/08/2017 23:02

Definitely Clarins UV Plus Ecran Jour Haute Protection SPF 40 UVA UVB.
It's like milk and leaves no greasy residue whatsoever.
Everything else melts off my face when I get hot. Not this. Small bottle. Seems expensive but it lasts well.

onemorecakeplease · 12/08/2017 23:09

I don't use a face suncream, just my Normal moisturiser which has spf in
Otherwise I break out

maudeismyfavouritepony · 12/08/2017 23:18

I've been using this and it feels lovely on, no spots, great base for make-up, no whiteness. Can't fault it and I'm very picky about face cream.

sycamore54321 · 12/08/2017 23:20

If you have the cash, Chanel'a facial sunscreen is the best I've found. Great for oily skin and doesn't bobble off

delilahbucket · 12/08/2017 23:21

Last year I used Nivea SPF 30 without any issues. This year I've just bought Piz Buin but won't be testing it until later in the week.

mrsmonkey14 · 12/08/2017 23:25

I really like the Clarins one for face.

Nicketynac · 12/08/2017 23:42

I use Biore Milky Fluid (or something like that) and a Shisheido one and love both but don't think they are sweatproof enough for holidays. Can anyone recommend one? Wouldn't be wearing makeup over it and am nice and pale so don't care about it leaving a white cast as long a it won't aggravate my oily skin.

thisfalseinsight · 14/08/2017 06:36

Second the reco for the Biore one - although I think mine is called 'Biore Watery Essence' - label is not in English, though, so I'm not sure! I agree that it wouldn't work well for a holiday but for everyday it's amazing stuff - very lightweight and matte even on my oily skin, dries clear (no white cast), broad spectrum, high spf (50), and it provides a really smooth base for makeup.

Chocwocdoodah · 14/08/2017 19:26

Sorry to jump on this - but is this the Biore watery essence everyone on here seems to recommend? I've got oily skin and find it really hard to find an SPF that doesn't slide off my face so I'm keen to try this but there seems to be a few varieties so just wanted to check this is it www.amazon.co.uk/Biore-Sarasara-Watery-Essence-Sunscreen/dp/B00LA6QEOE?tag=mumsnetforum-21

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 14/08/2017 22:52

They have changed the formulation on the watery essence and the new one leaves a white cast. That's why I'm no longer using it.

Marv1nGay3 · 14/08/2017 22:56

Another fan of La Roche Posay. I use the BB cream spf 50.
