Christmas wedding / breastfeeding (guest)

One of my best friends is having a Christmas wedding - I'll still be breastfeeding and baby will be with me. Has anyone got any ideas of good nursing dresses that would be appropriate? I'm not very good with style and could do with some recommendations! Thanks!

What sort of size and shape are you? What kind of style, type of sleeves, colour?

MissBax · 12/08/2017 12:49

Myfather - oops sorry I didn't think to mention that. I'm size 10/12, 5"5, hourglass shaped. I quite like purple/plum/navy type colours and thought they'd be nice for Christmas? I'd probably prefer longer maxi dresses and I prefer my upper arms to be covered. Thanks :)

Wrap dresses are just great for this.
The bought a second-hand DVF (ebay I think) dress for a friend's October wedding, and it looked smart and was dead easy to feed in.

Btw, Laura - I'm going to look at your Facebook page now. Sounds like a great idea!

Asos had a good selection of nursing dresseslast year. I got a navy dress with lace top panel for a wedding, the panel
lifted up for boob access but wasn't obviously a 'breastfeeding dress'. And it had elbow length lace sleeves. Was knee length though. And it was pretty cheap.

I think I ordered about 10 dresses and kept that one! So worth a look, you might need to wait until they get their A/W stock in.

Although it's not a nursing dress I wore this when my baby was 5 weeks old as the material has enough give in it to allow for feeding. It's a lot more flattering than it looks on the model too! I am usually a 12 but I sized down as it's a maternity dress, found it fitted better that way.

Oh that's lovely Cad!

cad - what a coincidence - I actually have that dress already (although not the maternity version)! Great minds 😉 x

I went to a couple of weddings with a newborn and found a top and skirt much easier to feed in. I wore one of these under the top and nothing was on show!
