Anyone do their own gel nails/Shellac or similar?

So, I love having nice nails and mine are brittle and crap unless I have gel polish on. I have a Shellac remove and reapply every 2/3 weeks and have been increasingly wondering if it is worth investing in the lamp etc? If so, is it CND/Shellac or nothing? Anyone do their own and find it easy etc?

I'm back! The shields are amazing for me. Friends say they don't last as long for them as standard gel applications, but I'm really heavy handed so gel only lasts max 10 days. , so 7-10 days for the shields isn't much difference. Peeling them off is so much faster than soaking g in acetone and better for hands and nails. I tend to peel mine off after a long shower as hands should be wet.

Well worth it.

Ooh I love doing my nails! I saw a lamp in a charity shop for £5 so thought I would give it a go. Ive tried a few different polishes from ebay etc and found bluesky and elite99 the best. Ive had a little play around with the nail decals too... under the last coat of top coat. Not perfect but im liking them, I find the no wipe top coat ends up a lot shinier.

Fab thank you, are they hard to apply? I watched a video and wondered if they would add ages onto the process

I wouldn't do anyone's without full training & insurance.

Thank you, I boughtva few different ones to try these just went on like kids tattoo transfers, I dipped them in water then placed with tweezers, was quite easy! I tried the stickers too though and they were a nightmare, wouldnt stick down properly and kept peeling off, the decals definitely better.

I use sensationail too. It's fab. Salon gel polish never stay on me for more than a day and sensationail lasted 5 days or so but I got some bonder from a friend and now they stay on for about 2/3 weeks.

Gin vodka does work, I used it on holiday when I forgot the cleanser. GrinI now use rubbing alcohol instead as it's much cheaper!
