Can anyone recommend a perfume that...

... costs no more than £40, is suitable for daytime wear and has notes of Patchouli. Oh and which doesn't wear off too quickly.

I wore Patchouli as a student and still love it, but the oil is too overwhelming at my age!

It's £10 over your budget but And Other Stories' sell an own-brand perfume called 'Ballet Improvise' which is a lot like Bottega Venetta's very sweet, strong patchouli (but cheaper and a bit 'younger').

I definitely used to wear a patchouli I loved that was within your budget. I can't remember what it was off the top of my head. I suspect it would have been something sold in M and S, though.

I'll have a think!

m&s do a patchouli perfume £26

IWantToSmellLikeAMemory · 11/08/2017 19:37

Hippy Rose by Heeley is the patchouli fragrance that springs to mind, but it isn't less than £40 sadly.

A lot of the patchouli noted perfumes are available as dupes on the Perfume Parlour and iirc there is a Library of Fragrance patchouli based perfume too. They are about £15 each at the moment if on sale, or £25 otherwise.

I'm on that thread, Ollivander84 and have no memory of writing at all!

"Bleu" is lovely! And relatively cheap (though I couldn't find it on line anywhere, so couldn't check the current price).

M and S used to sell [[http://www.senteursgourmandes.fr/fr/carnet-de-voyage/5-vanille-patchouli.html]]. It's well within your budget and I can confirm it lasts! I wonder if you could get it on-line. It's sweet and delicious.

What sort of patchouli do you like?

thecatfromjapan · 11/08/2017 19:46

Don;t know why that link didn't work. It's 'Vanille Patchouli' by Les Senteurs Gourmand.

Lush - Breath of God. I have both the bottle (£40ish) and the solid perfume in a tin (£11ish). Love it and lots of compliments when I wear it.

SJP Stash

Innermagic · 11/08/2017 19:54

I just got sjp stash at tk maxx for £12.99

MiaFarrowsWheelbarrow · 11/08/2017 19:55

Just checked the bottle of Lush's Breath of God, it has no patchouli but it does have a very similar heavy/sweet/smokey smell (must be the vetivert).

sororitynoise · 11/08/2017 19:58

Lush - karma

haba · 11/08/2017 20:11

Haha- catfromjapan- I do that all the time! So confusing.

BornOnTheSolstice · 12/08/2017 14:34

Thanks all. Lots of lovely suggestions. Smile I feel half naked without perfume! I haven't had a favourite in quite a while, so looking forward to trying some of these out.

Sweeter interpretations of patchouli - Mugler Angel, Avon Tomorrow, New Look Dusk, Victoria's Secret Beyond.

If you want a more mossy, classic interpretation - Clinique Aromatics Elixir.

Ellapaella · 12/08/2017 14:56

Clinique Aromatique Elixirs has definite patchouli tones.

Scoose · 12/08/2017 15:04

Lush karma?
