What style and colour top with this skirt?

The skirt is off white and the pattern is dark blue and black. I think a white top might make the skirt look a bit of a dingy colour. What style and colour tops would you suggest please? I never wear patterns so this is a big step for me

I think contrasting rather than trying to match is definitely the way to go.

Good idea but anything yellow based makes me look like I've been dug up and the only pink I can get away with is a muted raspberry colour. No idea why, it must be my colouring or something.

I was going to say that yellow can be tricky. I've discovered I can wear a real acidy yellow but everything else looks awful. I also can't wear any of those soft pink colours as they really wash me out, which is a shame as I love them.

Agree with squiz- coral would look really good.
