Brain drain moment- I've recently seen women wearing soft, jersey, sometimes tie dyed 'tulip-y' shaped dresses. Midi in length, always sleeveless.

I fancy a couple but haven't come across them in the shops so far, and my online searches aren't bringing them up!

I know I'm probably 12 months out of date but anyone know the ones I'm blathering on about?

TIA Thanks

Can you find a picture? I can't visualize what you're describing. It sounds like a sleeveless shift dress??

Thanks guys.

No the ones I mean are longer (mid calf) and I guess a bit hippy-ish?

Aargh no sorry, I think I've been misleading with the tulip thing!

They do have that kind of shape though, although they are loose fitting

Do you mean waterfall hem?? So it ends up longer at front and back and shorter at sides??? Don't know what it's called.

The type I thought of when you said "tulip" was those two arm-hole wrap beach dresses you get for quickly sticking on top of your bikini rather than the typical smock/sarong type affair.

I did also search "wrap tulip dress" and found this? cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0828/6341/products/wrap_taupe_tulip_dress5.jpg?v=1491396040

This isn't the best photo and it isn't ironed
It goes wider around thigh height then narrower at the bottom which is mid calf
It's a very flattering shape
This is what I would call tulip shape

I agree that lagenlook is probably what you're after.
Lots on eBay.

Any idea where the one you posted is from XiCi?

EraArils · 08/08/2017 12:19

Is it something like this? Where its tighter around the hem? I've seen another dress something where the yoke of the dress is a thick braid but I can't remember where from. These dresses are gathered tighter around the hem. I think its called cocoon hem or something.
