Are straight leg jeans ghastly?

Even though they are super comfy? Took a pair into the changing room today by accident, and omg, the comfort! I put them back but am now sitting in Starbucks hearing them calling to me. Do they have other redeeming features?

We need a photo

I bought some in Next last week. My new favourite jeans.

Well, it's more general rather than specific. I suspect these ones are a little naff, as they are John Rocha at Debenhams but they'd been put on a rack in the Oasis franchise amongst the Jade jeans, and I just lifted them on the basis of size without paying much attention. Grin

They're a lot less ghastly than skinny jeans IMO.

ilovecherries · 07/08/2017 15:47

This is all very encouraging!

I like them. They bypass my thighs but, unlike wide legs and flares, you can wear them in the rain. I think the ones they sell at the moment are very similar to skinnies from around 10 years ago (before they went all sausage skin).

Straight leg jeans are fine. If they're comfortable and you like them then get them.

Hunkle · 07/08/2017 15:53

I wear some with flip flops.

Orangebird69 · 07/08/2017 15:55

I love them. I'm a skinny jeans girl but on it because it's easier and cheaper to find them to fit me than straight leg jeans.

Orangebird69 · 07/08/2017 15:56

But only, not on it 😳

breakabletoy · 07/08/2017 15:56

Straight legs are great. It's a refreshing silhouette after more than a decade of skinnies.

squoosh · 07/08/2017 16:14

Narrow straight leg jeans are my favourite type.

ilovecherries · 07/08/2017 16:45

You have all enabled me! I don't actually wear skinnies, because I've been too fat till recently and any I have tried on have been hellishly uncomfortable and made my legs itch - but a friend had encouraged me to try the Oasis ones. Of course, I thought I'd found the holy grail when I put them on, then realised I'd picked the wrong brand and the wrong style.

And yes, Flo, they are quite narrow, like the skinnies I used to wear when I was younger, which is why I didn't twig straight away. They are slim without melding themselves onto my leg.

I like the GAP real straight jeans (not sure if they still do them). They are straight, but fairly slim straight and in my opinion are a refreshing change from skinny jeans, which I also wear.
