Please can you show me Boots and trouser combo. Must be smart for customer front facing role, i.e. In customers property. I just never get it right and see some really stylish people out and about. Can be high or low heels. Thank you.

I don't know what you mean by smart - do you just need to wear trousers and a blouse/fine knit or are we talking full-on suit?

PNGirl · 05/08/2017 21:12

The reason I ask is because it's fairly easy to pair ankle boots with jeans or a skirt but not trousers.

PNGirl · 05/08/2017 21:20

If I wear ankle boots with trousers it's like this, with them ending at the ankle, but that's more of a trendy than smart look.

Won't you get cold ankles?

Judydreamsofhorses · 05/08/2017 21:56

I do the same as pngirl, but wear fishnet ankle socks if it's cold.

Dailystuck71 · 05/08/2017 22:35

Thanks PN. Yes kind of like the pic you've shown. I just don't want to look naff. Smart and stylish. It wouldn't be a suit in winter but trousers with a shirt and may be a slash neck jumper or cardi. Long necklace and a coatigan type cover up if I can find something decent.

No, I don't get cold ankles. I'm either in the car or the office and realistically the south west doesn't really get that cold any more. We haven't had snow for about 5 years!

So I find a pair like this useful:

With ankle length trousers from somewhere like Uniqlo.

Definitely to avoid are heels with bootcut trousers flapping at your ankle bone, so like this but a bit shorter.

I really don't know how to style a pair of smart, mid-heel ankle boots though. My heeled ones are all suede western-types.

If you are inside mainly do you actually need boots? I tend to still wear shoes in winter if I'm mainly inside for work?

Plain black boots? That's what I team all my work trousers with.
