fancy helping me? I'm 30 (2 children aged 5 and 1) and I need jeans. I am finding the cheapo ones don't cut it anymore and these mom style look horiffic on me. I am 5ft 3, 8 on top, 10 on bottom but have a big bum and small waist so getting them to fit properly is tough, High wasted would be best (crapey skin) and they need to have a bit of stretch in them. I'm used to skinny jeans but up for suggestions. I had a decent pair from next of all places but they stretched so badly after 2 wears I'm not impressed. I don't mind the cost if they so the job

anyone have any wisdom on where to look?

I really like Jamie jeans from Topshop. So comfy, last well etc. They are quite skinny fit though...

dudsville · 03/08/2017 20:54

My local person charges £8 to bring in the waist of a pair of jeans. Find your local person, ask what they charge and then go shopping and factor in that price!

I now have 3 pairs of jeans that I actually love, 1 from Brand and 2 from 7 for All Mankind.
All from Brandalley for a fraction of what they'd normally cost (I think I paid 60 pounds/pair? - cannot remember exactly).

That is far more than I have ever previously spend on jeans, but oh my, I love them all: great fit, brilliant material, just the right amount of stretchiness and the perfect rise for me (to just below belly button) and I am intending to wear them until they fall apart Smile.

I've never had any problems with deliveries from Brandalley - might be worth a look.

I also like GAP jeans.

wow, you're me! well i'm 5'2, size 8 on top and size 10 on the bottom. I like mint velvet biker jeans in size 10, and levis BOLD curve Unfortunately Levis bold curve quite hard to get hold of but the 28" waist bold curve levis are my favourite jeans. My big arse looks good in them.

Dorothy Perkins Bailey jeans are a bargain but the absolute best i have found, tried expensive, cheap and everything in between. They're a nice thick denim but with stretch and really hold their shape, high waisted too.

user1466690252 · 03/08/2017 21:27

thanks! great places for me to start, it's that thickness of denim needed isn't it, alot I tried were such thin denim that my legs looked like sausages. They need to be held in a bit

the taking in of the waist is genius!! I have so much that can be made better by this

How about "per una" from Marks and Spencer.

imjessie · 03/08/2017 22:26

I've got some from marks and Spencer's which are nice . I'm a similar shape !

I would never think of m&s!

Agree with taking them in. The lady in my local shop puts a strip of thick elastic inside the waistband at the back. I was a bit apprehensive as I thought you'd be able to tell I was wearing elasticated jeans but when you're wearing them you really can't tell at all and it just pulls that gaping back bit in.

SorrelForbes · 04/08/2017 07:48

Gap High Rise Skinnies or Topshop Jamie skinnies

LoniceraJaponica · 04/08/2017 07:49

M & S are actually very good for jeans. I have some high waisted skinny jeans and they have been a revelation.

Sainsburys are also good for jeans.

user1497557435 · 04/08/2017 07:55

Levis do curve & demi curve versions of their jeans - highly recommend

holeinmypocket · 04/08/2017 08:00

Treat yourself to some Diesel jeans. Loads of styles in store.

AdelicaArundel · 04/08/2017 08:32

I am a surprised convert to M&S jeans...Per Una (a section I used to glide past, given the disdain here Grin)

I am rather bootylicious - my waist thinks it's still 16, my hips are very definitely post-children.

Dark, good weight jeans. They don't stretch. Variety of lengths.
I wait for the M&S seasonal sale and stock up- first time I've ordered things on repeat.

NoddysBell · 04/08/2017 08:35

I agree with Levi's jeans. The demi curve skinnies fit like they were made for me. The denim us excellent quality, thicker than cheaper jeans and a good bit of stretch.

AnaViaSalamanca · 04/08/2017 08:59

I you are planning to pay around 40-50, then wait for the outnet sale in late Aug. You can find JBrand and 7 and some other nice brands are there.

PNGirl · 04/08/2017 10:06

Another vote for Gap and Jamie. AllSaints had some decent pairs in their sale too.

imjessie · 05/08/2017 14:37

I got some nice jeans in Zara today . Just their plain skinny £29.99 but they fit well as they have stretch .

imjessie · 05/08/2017 14:41

m.zara.com/uk/en/woman/jeans/skinny/the-skinny-sunset-blue-c498020p4666039.html these ones , they come in lots of different colours and I'm short so they are full length and a bit extra , I just turn up the bottom a bit .

NouveauBitch · 05/08/2017 14:47

Uniqlo skinnies are super. If you can get to a shop they take them up to fit for nothing, if not then maybe try their ankle skimmers - they're perfect full length on my 29" inside leg. They're thick stretch denim so hold everything in and work on my very curvy bottom half (11 inch difference between waist and hips).

EyeDrops · 05/08/2017 15:08

You're my shape too!

I'm currently loving a pair of Fatface jeggings. I was aghast at the prospect of jeggings but these are basically proper jeans, but stretchy and soooo comfortable. They were around £40.

Nearlyadoctor · 05/08/2017 15:31

Next 360 jeans are great, high waisted and stretchy £48
