Leather jacket...

I've been thinking for a while that I would like to invest in a leather jacket, would like a decent one, prepared to spend around £300.
Tried on this one in Karen Millen yesterday and it was lovely but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Do I go for a Biker style or have they had their day?

Any advice? Thanks

My much-loved one is a Bales from AllSaints.
You might be a touch early by a couple of weeks though, as all the "new in" stuff is suede and/or pale coloured to transition from late summer to autumn. Most places haven't got their full range for winter yet.

rightknockered · 03/08/2017 15:58

My favourite is my Allsaints Balfern.
I would wait a few weeks, I'm pretty certain there will be some discount codes floating around.

Def all saints for leather jackets . My bales is lovely although I would have bought a smaller size had I known it would give so much

Thank you, I'm not desperate to buy it this week so will hang on and see what happens over the next month or so. I've signed up for the newsletter so hopefully they might have a discount code!

I found the most gorgeous one on Amazon. AMAZON! It was about £65 and I just thought why not, the shape was cool and reviews good.

It's Ann amazing jacket. Arrived with an Italian tag saying €280. The leather is beautiful and the cut is just the right amount of biker. I'll see if I can find it but it was 2 yrs ago....

I would definitely hang on a few weeks. I'm starting to get the autumn catalogues through the door and while there are still plenty of bikers, there are a few subtly different styles too e.g. me and em and Baukjen are both doing a collarless version and Baukjen also have this one which I like - very similar to a biker but just looks a bit fresher I think. All Saints are also doing oversized versions as well as their traditional ones.

That's not to say bikers have had their day and I'm quite sure they'll be around for a few years yet but the signs are there that the high street's beginning to move on. (They want us to keep spending money after all.) If I was getting one now I'd go for a classic colour and minimal detailing.

What size are you? I have a beautiful one similar to the pic I've only worn once from Mason Scotch. It is an S, size 10.

Leapfrog44 · 04/08/2017 11:18

It's like this with suede on the inside of the front panel except it's collarless is4.revolveassets.com/images/p4/n/z/MSCO-WO56_V1.jpg

I invested in a Whistles one a couple of years ago (with the Grazia 25% off code they always do, which made it less painful!) and would highly recommend their leather jackets. I also have an Oasis one and a Warehouse one which i never wear, but I can't bear to chuck out as they were such faithful friends, but the Whistles one is miles nicer and has worn far, far better.

TheMogget · 04/08/2017 11:46

Okay, so hang on for a while seems to be the advice. Will definitely have a look round at some of the other styles but not too keen on the really plain ones. Will have a look at Whistles too and sign up for any offers.

I'm a 10/12 hiphop

Another vote for All Saints! Mine is the Pitch, classic style & gorgeous soft leather

bananafish81 · 05/08/2017 00:09

I would marry my All Saints Belvedere leather biker

rightknockered · 05/08/2017 12:43

I have a Whistles biker, and as I said earlier an Allsaints Balfern.
I have pulled in the Allsaints Balfern, is all i'm saying. Never fails.
