Hi,

Anyone an expert on adult acne? I've got PCOS and I've always had terrible skin. Am mid- thirties now with no signs of improvement no matter what I do .Specifically, I seem to her awful spots in and around my eyebrows! Hmm I always drink lots of water, remove make up, use non-pore clogging foundation, keep my brushes clean etc.

I've tried loads of skincare over the years. Expensive, cheap, nothing seems to help. The only time I had nice skin was when I was pregnant. Recently forked out for Pro-active as advertised on tv. No good!

Any suggestions?

Is it specifically only your eyebrows?
I have seborrhoeic dermatitis on my forehead which does give me lumps a bit like pimples, and seb derm commonly affects eyebrows.

There is also an acne condition that is caused by the same yeast that causes seb derm. It's caused by your immune system reacting to the presence of a normally harmless yeast on your skin.

Roaccutane. Seems to have cleared mine up permanently. Though was horrible while I was taking it.

My eyebrows are the worst. I do have spots elsewhere, not as bad. The ones in my eyebrows (and in between them) are more like painful lumps that don't actually produce anything if I give in and pick. Sorry, grim.

What were the side effects of that medication? I've heard of it before.

Also have pcos and spots! Have gone to expensive dermatologist and it is helping. She recommended a lot of La Roche Posay stuff from the Effaclar range and am super impressed.

Incredibly dry flaky skin while I was taking the medication and awful chapped lips.

Have you tried an anti dandruff shampoo just on your eyebrows?
