I am going through one of my 'I hate my hair' phases !!
I have very thick, wavy/curly hair and I never know what to do with it. The attached picture is how my hair looks when it's washed and left to dry naturally... It's still a bit wet in the pic. It's going to poof out a lot more when completely dry.

On most days I blow dry it and then put it up.. But I know that look ages me.
In an ideal world I would have inherited my mum's super soft straight hair!
Mine takes ages to straighten and even then it never looks as good as it does when I get it done in the salon.

I have tried the curly girl method and have decided it's not for me. It looks good on day 1, but then after that I really don't know what to do with it. And I have tried it for a long time..so it's not like I gave up in the first week.

I would like to cut it short, but not sure what cut to go for. My thinking was that if it's short I may be able to straighten it in shorter time. Do I get layers or not? I have never had a bob/lob and I would love to try it.

If you have got this far, thanks!

If you go short, then get a Brazilian blow dry or chemical straightening. Be careful, short is high maintenance.

Your hair as it is suits your face, and you can sweep it up if needs be. If you fancy a change, go for a balayage ot tipped ends to highlight that fab texture that it has.

Let us know what you decide xx

I have similar hair to yours but thicker. It's a nightmare. I had a brilliant idea of going short. It's now even bigger, so poofy and I just end up pinning it back. Currently pregnant and stupidly thought it be easier to manage, it really isn't. First pic is after an hour and a half with a hairdryer and straighteners, second wash and dry as it is now ( do ignore my "outfit" 😂) I am still searching for that perfect formula that doesn't involve hours with a hairdryer. If you do decide to cut it, I d go for a Brazilian blow dry
