Does anyone succesfully wear suede boots in British weather? Are they destroyed by rain or will they survive?
I'm coveting some mid light grey ankle boots but they are also available in black. Would prefer grey but worried they'll be a waste of money.. help please

Get some spray stuff to reflect rain . I'll ask dh what it's called

do it! Love grey suede. In fact, share the link so we can see!

I bought some grey suede boots from Hush yesterday - I love them - will just try not to get caught in the rain, and will spray them with protector!

Hard not to get caught in the rain in the UK. Especially if you live in the countryside. These would work for someone living in a city who doesn't have to get to work or who barely has to cross a street in the course of the day.

I've got navy suede ones which I wore in the rain after spraying them with Clarks suede protector, they need a brush but they look ok, I decided that they will get wet, so I just wore them and thought to myself that there isn't any point being precocious about them in England. I don't regret wearing them. I have grey suede too which I've not worn yet as they are knee highs and it's too hot at the moment!

BusterGonad · 31/07/2017 19:19

Oh Here I wore them in the countryside to the local pub! 😂

BusterGonad · 31/07/2017 19:22

A quick brush and they'll be fine!

I had tasselled and studded black knee length boots; I wore them for a Devon walk with my mum and somehow got mud all over them that I could never get off.

I did wear suede shoes when I lived and worked in central London barely having to leave the building to get to work. However, I now live in a National Park. I need to walk through a muddy ditch to open and shut the gates to our drive and my kids school has deep muddy puddles on the path to the school gate. That road also floods a bit if it rains heavily. No suede shoes for me at the moment!

I love grey and Hudsons so those are fab - great price too!

Yes to protector - can you keep some alternatives in a desk drawer/car for unexpected soggy days

Life's too short so keep the boots Grin
