Black jeans to an interview

Can I get away with black jeans at an interview tomorrow?
Interview is for an internal promotion and I work in quite a casual office, but have to go to the "head office" for the interview.
I think I already know the answer and I do have a backup outfit which is much more formal, but also digs in and is more uncomfortable.
The black jeans in question are plain black ankle skimmers, skinny, not worn out or distressed and I'd wear with a floaty floral blouse where you couldn't see the zipper or pockets.
What do you think? Too informal?

I wouldn't. Particularly if the interview is at Head Office. Wear the more formal outfit and change afterwards.

Far too informal. Make an effort!

No. Big mistake to take an internal interview more casually than any other.

Thanks guys. The formal outfit it is! I knew I was being silly with the jeans idea but that's what I wear to work everyday and that's how one of the panel always sees me, but you're right- more effort required!

hi.... you already know the answer....

However casual the day to day dress code may be, and though it may be uncomfortable for the short time you're dressed up, unless the interview invite has specifically detailed casual attire, I would dress accordingly for a professional situation.

First impressions are lasting, and as someone who sits on both sides of an interview table regularly, for me, dressing accordingly also affects your state of mind.

Where the back up outfit, then change out asap .... oh and good luck!

Definitely not
