What makeup would you treat yourself to in Duty Free?

So I'm heading off on holiday today. Don't necessarily need anything but fancy a treat, possibly a lippy. We're going on the ferry so might not have as good a selection as airports.

What would you buy?

Just me who is a frivalous holiday makeup shopper then? Wink

Sometimes it's just cheaper to go online to allbeauty or similar. For a treat, I like lipsticks or a perfume if the price is good - but it isn't always!

Gincision · 31/07/2017 12:03

I know it's not always cheaper. But I don't know enough about different makeup brands / colours to buy online and don't usually have the time to browse apart from on holiday!

Urban decay!
Charlotte tilbury
And benefit

ajandjjmum · 31/07/2017 12:55

Clarins 8-hour lipsticks - £20 each here and around £35-ish for 3 in duty free.

HermiioneSnape02 · 31/07/2017 13:19

I'm lusting after Charlotte Tilbury. So definitely that. Maybe silence Dior too.

eurochick · 31/07/2017 13:22

It depends on the airport and what I am short of. I often buy Mac or Benefit, but I enjoy having a browse around lots of different brands in one place.

HermiioneSnape02 · 31/07/2017 13:26

Silence Hmm

Predictive text is my enemy. Also Dior.

LockedOutOfMN · 31/07/2017 13:29

Touche Éclat and Juicy Tubes

Gincision · 31/07/2017 20:56

Remind me not to get excited about duty free next time I'm travelling by ferry. Bugger all makeup. Gutted...

Good tips for general shopping though - thanks ladies!

I was going to say, don't get your hopes up! Although if it's a massive toblerone you're after... Grin
Duty free airport shopping, I buy perfume and sunglasses, I don't wear makeup. I'm going next week, I'm almost more excited about my purchases than the holiday!

MorrisZapp · 31/07/2017 21:00

In Palma airport they have mini jars of Nutella.

Could probably double as contour?

LockedOutOfMN · 31/07/2017 21:03

OP, that's a shame. I was coming back to recommend Urban Decay palettes which are sold on the plane on some airlines with a good discount (they never have the 'latest' one but that's not an issue as the colours on the others are great too).

My brother tells me white Toblerone is delicious...I was planning to investigate when we're next at the airport. Blush

thisismadness77 · 31/07/2017 21:05

Dior, Dior Dior :)

Arealhumanbeing · 01/08/2017 02:25

Bobbi Brown make up and Jo Malone for candles. Excellent discounts.

I once got a giant bottle each of Clarins cleanser and body lotion in a bundle for 18 euro.

sxround · 01/08/2017 06:02

Duty free these days is simply a markeing exercise targeted at the gullible.
Look at what they have available and at what price, and then cross-reference on Amazon and you will see what I mean.

Botanicbaby · 01/08/2017 07:59

It's nice to treat yourself to a new lipstick when you're going on holiday. I'm sure you'll enjoy browsing OP and find some bargains, you can usually get a travel pack (mini sizes) of nice lip glosses to see you throughout your holiday Smile

Auldspinster · 01/08/2017 08:11

Guerlain lippy and perfume.
