As the title. Having dinner with lovely stylish people in a couple of weeks. I feel like I've totally lost my mojo and can't think what to wear. I know it doesn't actually matter, but any suggestions?:

Am 34, 5'2, size 8 but will be 11ish weeks pregnant Confused

I like whistles, some topshop, stories, some mango, maje in the sale...etc.

Would rather not anything sleeveless but open to all ideas...?

I've just bought this in the sale, and it's lovely on. The jewel colour is very flattering, and the waistband will give you a bit of grace as you grow - I found it's cut a bit generously, so might be useful in that regard.

I'm planning on wearing it to a posh dinner on Friday with some gold jewellery and gold boots.

Oh, and congratulations, by the way!

Thank you for replying! Your jumpsuit is gorgeous - beautiful colour. I like it but think it would be too long on me.

I worded my title wrong also, it's less a ^posh place we're going to for dinner and more trendy/hipster...

Glad you like it! It's a bit long on me too, but I'm taking the hem up a bit to sort that out. I'm doing it on my sewing machine, but as you've got a couple of weeks, so you could either follow a YouTube tutorial and take it up by hand / with iron on hemming tape, or a dry cleaner could probably alter it for you. Hope you find something you like!

What colours work well for you?

OlennasWimple · 30/07/2017 14:25

Forgiving waistband and can be shortened easily

Another soft waistband and cropped style

Great tummy disguise

The Whistles Lola dress is nice and beautifully cut so will cover a small bump and still look good after the baby is born. I am your height but fatter and it hangs to just on my knee. I have it in navy and wore it to a poshish restaurant in NY with nude wedges and an posher one in Bermuda with slide sandals. I felt perfectly dressed both times.

Oh thank you all. The jumpsuits are all great finds but would rather spend money on something a bit more versatile as already have a black jumpsuit (that I think I will not be able to squeeze into by then - should check though.

Whistles lola looks like an excellent suggestion and great to know it's not way too long for shorties. Liking that I could wear it for another few weeks/months and post partum. May well go for that Flowers

Just to say OP that John Lewis seem to have some maternity dresses in the sale at the moment as well if you want to flick through those. I've pulled one I like in case you want some non-black options Smile
