City break capsule wardrobe?

I've only ever done beach holidays before but in September will be doing a 5 day city break. What on earth should I wear?

We're taking hand luggage only so I need to choose wisely. Oh and to be helpful I'm pretty skint at the moment so would prefer to spend no more than £100 on clothes.

Size 12/14 pear shaped, any ideas please? I've been browsing but I literally have no idea what I'm even looking for!

Try Pinterest for inspiration, there are loads of boars/posts to fit your criteria. You should then be able to see what you currently have at home and what you still need to get. Enjoy your break

Depends where you are going? Comfy shoes/sandals, limit your colours so you can mix and match.

Comfy shoes. Jersey cotton packs well.

Travel in the flats you are going to walk around in. Pack some wedges for evening. Skinnys and cotton tops or linen trousers often good as you can wear them rolled up and creased is ok for linen. Skinny pedal pushers also a good one that you can wear casual or dress up.

I'm just packing for a city break. The weather looks as if it's going to be a mix of sunshine and showers.

So far I've got:
2 black jersey dresses - one sleeveless and one with short sleeves
blue jeans
black cropped wideleg trousers
black vest tops and t-shirts
denim shirt
camo print jacket
white trainers
black squishy flat shoes - not trainers but as comfortable as
black espadrille wedges
brolly

Will travel in the jeans and the camo jacket.

Have also got a grey cotton jersey jacket.

Where is the city? What kind of temperatures can you expect? We had a break in Lisbon last October and it was still 28 degrees plus. We wore shorts and tea shirts most of the time. I also packed a couple of smarter tops and lightweight trousers/skirts for the evenings.

Sorry should have said it's Barcelona. Thanks for the suggestions so far, off to browse Pinterest!!

Great city! I keep arms, shoulders and knees covered, partly because I burn very easily and partly because it's easier in case you want to look round churches etc. So normally cotton, cropped trousers (but not too cropped - I'm into widelegs at the moment) and long sleeved shirts - in fact pretty much what I wear here all summer.

Comfy shoes.
Hat.
One jumper or jacket for night time - it can be roasting during the day but sometimes turn chilly once the sun goes down, especially in September.

I only take one smart top for evenings and half the time I don't even wear that because we nearly always end up eating wherever we are at the end of the day so hardly ever come back to change.

I'm in Barca to beginning of sept but for work conf. It will be about 26 so I'd be taking linen trousers and comfortable cotton dresses for evening. In the day I'll be inside so skinnies and shirts.

LockedOutOfMN · 30/07/2017 16:11

Barcelona's a relatively big city in terms of walking area to different sights, etc. so comfortable shoes are a must. It will be warm in September but not hot. Cooler at night. It gets humid near the beach.

Hijacks -

How many items would people take for 5 days or a week? I'm used to packing very light, but now I'm worrying it isn't enough. As above plus a denim skirt and a pair of shorts, plus a silk shirt.
