Plus size honeymoon :-/

I've just about reconciled myself with being a fat bride in a month, but haven't quite made my peace with what I'll wear for the honeymoon immediately after.

Off to a Sandals resort (enormously discounted in the sale or we couldn't afford it!) at the end of August for ten days, so it's fairly dressy AFAIK.

I am 5'9", huge boobs, mostly dress size 22. Very pale skin, burn easily so will be factor 50 the whole time.

My swimsuit is a fugly boyleg racer back designed for swimming lengths - not really suitable for honeymoon beach lounging.

Any advice? Any links to swimsuits, dresses, linen trousers, tops etc?

Wow, you ladies are good! Lots of bits there I really like, thank you.

I'll keep looking for swimsuits / tankinis, but definitely food for thought.

Thanks for the congratulations, not long to go now which feels weird!

And congratulations from me too Flowers

I was in a pretty similar situation!

For swimsuits, I personally like skirted ones, this kind of thing: www.marksandspencer.com/secret-slimming-palm-print-swimsuit/p/p22495980?image=SD_02_T52_2723_Y4_X_EC_90&color=BLACKMIX&prevPage=plp&pdpredirect

One of my friends always wears vintage pin up style swimsuits and looks fantastic.

For dresses, I got a couple from Lady V London (the Isabella shape). Good quality, cotton so quite cool but a little stretch. They have a Lady Voluptuous range, my boobs aren't big enough for it, but yours may be!

I also got a couple of cheap easy dresses from Yours.

For lingerie, I ended up in Sainsburys of all places - they had some really nice bits in, and in a good size range.

I've just ordered 3 dresses and a playsuit from Lindybop, so that was ace!

Now looking at most recent links, thank you :-D

Congratulations. Don't worry about your size just focus on having a brilliant time

I really recommend Miraclesuit swimsuits. They cost more but are worth every penny as they hold everything in nicely. If you get a nice matching sarong and some pretty flip flops you'll be fine in the daytime.

You haven't said where you're going but i assume it's somewhere in the Carribean. If so, it will be really warm in the evenings. So some nice floaty tops with white trousers or 3/4 lengths would be good. Again with pretty sandles.

Navabi have some good things and Live Unlimited feel quite trendy in big sizes.

Have fun Smile

Congratulations on your wedding. Yours have quote a lot of nice summer stuff in their sale right now and you have lots of brilliant links so I just want to leave this here. You are beautiful no matter what!

I highly recommend the zulily website, lots of gorgeous plus size stuff including swimwear. Allow a good amount of time for delivery though.

GrimDamnFanjo · 29/07/2017 22:36

I got some lovely stuff in the Navabi sale - it's still on x

therealladygrantham · 30/07/2017 11:06

I am same size and height as you and I mostly shop online at...Navabi, Samoon,Lands End, Boden, Artigiano. For swimwearI picked up a tankini at M and S the other day, had to try about 6 tops on which was a supremely depressing experience but ended up finding one which fitted quite well. Will try and link www.marksandspencer.com/embroidered-padded-tankini-top/p/p60105353?image=SD_02_T52_6503T_Y4_X_EC_90&color=BLACKMIX&prevPage=srp&pdpredirect

Kit & Kaboodal for linen tops, tunics and dresses. Recommended on MN, have now got 3 tops and dress, very happy with them!

vitaminC · 01/08/2017 16:51

I am also large of nork and got a lovely, supportive bikini from www.triumph.com Smile

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 06/08/2017 20:07

Thank you everyone for your input. I went a bit loopy in the Lindy Bop sale, expecting to send most of it back.... I now have three new dresses and a playsuit!

One needs the bust adjusting, so I'll have that done this week, otherwise they all fit like a dream. Definitely my new favourite shop!!

Glad you found some lovely new bits on there!

Hunter007 · 07/08/2017 20:24

I get all my swimsuits from For Luna. They do a good plus size selection and are really glamorous www.forluna.co.uk/collections/plus-size-retro-swimwear

SugarMiceInTheRain · 07/08/2017 20:59

Was just going to suggest ForLuna for swimwear, but Hunter beat me to it. They are pricey but great quality.
