Converse

Thinking of getting a pair of converse, trainer style not the ankle ones, I don't normally wear trainers but I'm looking for something comfy and light, but also that I'll be able to drive in, so no thick soles.
Any converse fans out there who can tell me whether they're a light trainer, and are you able to drive in them. Also are they a slim fit or quite roomy, I have wide feet. Thanks everyone.

I drive in them, do everything in them, they are fine.

I'd say they are slim fit, but on the big side. I'm a narrow 6.5 usually and I wear a 6.

maitaimojito · 27/07/2017 20:57

I drive in mine. They are quite heavy and have a thick sole compared to other trainers but I find them really comfy and no issues driving.

I have wide feet and find that they rub my little toes for the first few wears. The leather ones are a wider though and are comfy straight away.

I drive on them, walk in them, do everything in them. I have fairly wide feet, and they fit fine in my normal size (but my normal size is size 9!).

TheScottishPlay · 27/07/2017 21:09

I have wide size 6 feet. They nip my pinky toes. 6.5 are too big. Superga are perfect for me.

I'd say they're a slim fit around the toes, I don't have wide feet but quite square toes and they rub my little toe until worn in.

I find the 'normal' ones to be a generous size (I'm a 5 with a bit of room to spare in most shoes, I could get a 4.5 in a normal converse), but the 'slimline' ones (with the really thin sole) are on the small side (5 are tight on me).

I do everything in them, but SIL has fallen arches and can't walk too far in converse as they have no arch support (she should get inserts really).

UsernameInvalid66 · 28/07/2017 16:39

I would say they are true to size but fairly narrow (which suits me as my feet are narrow).

ChocolatePHD · 28/07/2017 16:43

I live in them and have done for years. I've got slim size 3 feet and haven't had a bad pair yet.

PrawnTempura · 28/07/2017 16:43

I have wide feet and find Converse narrow and uncomfortable. I prefer Vans for their width.

AmethystRaven · 28/07/2017 17:04

I got some converse style Dunlops from Sports Direct and they are much comfier than my converse which are slightly too narrow for me. They were £14.99 too!

flippychick · 28/07/2017 17:11

I find Rocket Dogs more comfortable for my wide feet and I wear mine for driving

LifeofClimb · 28/07/2017 17:20

They're very narrow, my feet are narrow and on the first few wears they still rub my little toe. They need wearing in to be mega comfortable because of the stiff canvas. Not great for long distance walking but great for everyday. Recommend an insole if you wear them a lot! I do love my converse (and can drive in them). They're not like wearing normal supportive trainers though.

Doggoslothlady · 28/07/2017 17:48

I'm an 8 with wide feet and find converse one of the only comfy shoes I can wear. They look narrow but believe me they will be fine, I essentially have flippers for feet and they are perfect .

delilahbucket · 28/07/2017 17:49

I live in mine. Still going strong over a year later as well and they've done some milage. I drive in them without any issues. They are by far the comfiest thing I have ever worn!

ButterfliesandMoths · 02/08/2017 08:34

Thanks for all the input ladies 😊

I live in my converse, have worn them for about thirty years. Very comfortable, easy to drive/walk in and fine for wide feet

Thumbeline · 02/08/2017 15:02

I've always found them really uncomfortable and narrow. plus the canvas doesn't stretch the same way leather does so if worn with no socks they rip your feet to shreds.

I have leather superga which are pretty comfy.
