DD1 starts morning sessions in playschool in August. It suddenly hit me I'll only have a few minutes to throw on make up before running out the door.

I don't always bother wearing make up, I don't feel like im very good at it but my skins not great so sometimes I feel a bit more together with some on.

What would you consider the basics?

I use BB cream (Dr. Jart water fuse), sometimes benefits the porefessional primer if I remember, mascara and some lipstick.

I need to add under eye concealer but anything else??

Brow mascara if they need a bit of definition and a pink tinted lip balmSmile

I have clear brow gel somewhere. I'll dig that out. I have very few lip products. I went a bit crazy and threw loads out that I'd had for ages!

I'd go for a tinted moisturiser, nude lipstick, mascara and brow mascara as a minimum. I always add eye shadow and blusher, but I'm very pale and need it. If you have good colouring you can get away with less.

I'm really pale, I need blusher to look alive. I was scared of it for years but then discovered - if used well - it looks good.

Add blusher in, forget bothering with primer if it's for a short term fix. Base, Mascara, brows, lips, cheeks. Go.

I read a comment from Bobbi Brown years ago. She recommended that you should pick the three products that make the most difference to your face/mood and learn to do them really fast. So if you have dark circles or pigmentation, one of your things might be concealer. If you have fair lashes, then mascara.

My three things are concealer wiped under my eye, each side of my nose and on my chin, then blended with fingers, mascara and blush. When I have time, I love applying makeup but if I'm in a rush those three things make me feel like I look a lot more groomed. And because I do it so often, I can apply all three in about 2 minutes.

zachary I like that! So concealer, bb cream & mascara I think would be my 3.

I use Benefit Fine One One - it's a cream blusher stick with highlighter. I love it.

Love that idea, Zachary. Really useful tip.

I've just had my eyebrows tinted (subtly!), which I thought would be a total waste of money but it was only a couple of quid on top of my threading, and I feel so much more put together! Definitely a convert.
I'm a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury - her Wonderglow primer is my go-to product now. Makes my skin look really healthy, so I sometimes don't bother with foundation, which saves a lot of time! Bought her palette in the sale which is good too. Love having everything in one place as I'm really not a morning person but really am trying to work on hard on looking more polished! On a hectic day, i just throw on Wonderglow, mascara, beach stick as blusher (I promise I have no affiliation with CT whatsoever!) and nude lipstick.
