I did my feet 4 days ago. One is dry, stretched and shiny and done nothing. The other foot is a real mess! Won't post photos as not a good sight. The skin is really thick and scaly on that foot and bits are coming off but it's so thick I've tried to pull and pick bits. This hasn't been great and because the skin is so thick , where bits I've ' eased off' have gone ,my foot is a mess. Not sure if l should soak my feet and ease bits off or just leave. I just think that the skin will just stay hard and thick in patches!, Nice!!! Off camping next Monday so need to sort them out😆

Soaking is the answer, daily soaking! Or socks and shoes and hide your shame!

Bungleboggs · 27/07/2017 12:51

Could you make an appointment to see a chiropodist to sort them out?! You will feel much better

EnidButton · 27/07/2017 13:14

Be patient, it needs another day or two to get going. This is how it starts off. Do Not pull off any bits as it's not ready yet. Soak every night, for at least half an hour, in very warm water. Preferably closer to an hour. After 20 minutes give them a gentle rub whilst they're still submerged. Don't use any moisturisers or shower gels containing moisturisers. It'll get there.

EnidButton · 27/07/2017 13:15

don't 'ease' bits off, be patient and soak them, basically. It usually takes 10-14 days in total but you can't rush it.

Freshprincess · 27/07/2017 13:17

That's what supposed to happen. Keep soaking them, they'll look fine in a few days.

FlappyFish · 27/07/2017 13:19

I went through the same thinking this isn't working and then... wham.

The key is to keep soaking. Either in a bowl or bath and then gentle scrubbing. Don't moisturise, though you will be desperate to.

farfarawayfromhome · 27/07/2017 13:20

Please please post a photo!

Artyfarty555 · 27/07/2017 14:08

One that is peeling ish! One has done nothing!! There you go farfarfaraway!!!
Will definitely soak every for an hour tonight and every night!!!
Caused much hilarity in our house with 2 teenage lads!!😂 You're doing what!? That's disgusting but youngest took photos!!
Thanks for all the suggestions. Warm soaking is the way forward. The bad foot has settled down a bit since this morning but I apologise for anyone eating lunch!😆

That looks perfectly normal. Keep your socks on or you'll be leaving a trail all over the carpet.

My DS loves it when I do it and asks if he can pick it off .

Nettletheelf · 27/07/2017 15:31

The disappointment! I clicked on this thread expecting to see two charred stumps. That's what 'footner going wrong' should look like!

(But seriously, as others have noted, you just need a couple more days and some determined soaking.)

EnidButton · 27/07/2017 16:04

I can see the bits you've 'eased' off. Don't do that anymore. When the skin is ready it's very easy to rub off or peel off in big very thin flakes. Don't force any of it.

EnidButton · 27/07/2017 16:04

Other than those tiny bits, they look as they should look.

farfarawayfromhome · 27/07/2017 16:30

thoroughly enjoyed the photos, thank you!

IHopeYourCakeIsShit · 27/07/2017 16:35

My feet look worse than that without having been footnered, I have terrible athlete's foot.
Was expecting like Nettle to see charred stumps, so I am glad you haven't burned your tootsies off.

littlewoollypervert · 27/07/2017 16:41

If you go for a loooong walk and get your feet nice and sweaty in your runners and socks, a lot of the skin will come off afterwards with a good soak.

Last time I did Footner I was looking forward to a few days of pleasurable shedding, and did a few 5 mile walks not realising they would deprive me of the pleasure - but I still had lovely feet afterwards!

Artyfarty555 · 27/07/2017 18:28

Had a few laughs at the comments... but going to soak my feet now xxx I'm quite enjoying the peeling process but then l do enjoy peeling dried on PVA glue xx

Artyfarty555 · 27/07/2017 18:28

Oh, yes ...what should l soak my feet in? Just warm water?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/07/2017 21:59

go swimming

Wear a plastic sock on the peeler if it's too grim to scuttle from changing room to pool.

Trust me. The combination of an hour in water, plus the drying effect of chlorine. Golden.

EnidButton · 27/07/2017 22:53

Just water for soaking. Also, when you shower, avoid washing them with any moisturising shower creams/gel until they're done.

Artyfarty555 · 28/07/2017 12:51

Love the idea of swimming!!😂 But better not inflict that on anyone. One foot is still intact , no change whatsoever 😩 After an hour in the bath last night some more came off the ' rotting' one! But, some of the skin is sooo thick that it's double thickness and I can't think that will come of! I did ease some off, pulled hard and I thought my foot would bleed as it's so deep! It was very sore but seems ok now but a right ' blotchy mess'! Can you see where it has been pulled off but very deep sore bit left!? My teenage boys are so grossed out by this!!!😂

MaximaDeWit · 28/07/2017 13:28

Soak, soak, soak, soak and soak again!

PugOnToast · 28/07/2017 13:33

That is a disappointing photo Sad I want a proper horrifying one. You are a Footner baby

Artyfarty555 · 28/07/2017 14:26

Pugontoast!! I was expecting getting thrown off the site for the photos! But, it seems the more gruesome the better😄. Will do better next time...but one foot is still doing nothing...really odd , while the other is a tender mess and not the gorgeous baby soft skin that others get! I think the skin revealed underneath is still hard and manky... better not put another Footner on straight away....give it a week!!! 😊
