Help for a Christening

Hi, I'm retired and given up on dressing up but going to a Christening and not sure what to do. The last few dressy do's I've been to I've ended up spending money and never wearing the dress/suit again, normally I live in trousers so I was wondering about wearing something like this www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_028030131543_-1

I thought I could have smart trousers in navy or a stone colour to pick out colour on the leaf and wear some nice sandals.

What do you think? If it helps I'm 5'4" tall and size 12.

Looks nice to me, christenings at our church are part of the regular service, so not super dressy affairs.

It is C of E and I'm not so don't want to look out of place. I've ordered it so will be looking for some trousers now. Just got to decide if I'm going with navy or stone and then find some nice sandals. I feel relieved now I have decided to go with trousers.

I think that's fine.

What people wear to Christenings can vary widely if our church is anything to go by.

It's not a wedding there aren't any rules. I think as long as you look smart and like you've made a bit of an effort you're good.

sorry I didn't reply, family emergency and I'm in a state but the top came and it looks lovely. Thank you all.

Would you wear white trousers? I think they would look lovely with that top, which is lovely BTW.

It looks lovely and very suitable indeed. Just the ticket in fact.
