Secondary school- Alternative to Kickers

Hi All

My son is starting Secondary in September. Up until now he has been able to wear plain black trainers.

Secondary insists on plain black formal shoes- no contrast stitching etc. Kickers seem to be the number one choice- they certainly have durability. My son would like some- probably more to fit in. My problem is that he is now a size 7 and his feet have grown from a size 5 in a year. Do die to ever expanding feet and price I need to find a similar alternative.

Any ideas?

Kickers are popular as they are well made and cheap shoes can be a false economy as they sometimes tend to look scruffy fairly quickly. However, I understand your dilemma and from the sound of it, your son will have outgrown his new shoes before they have a chance to look scruffy :-)

Have you tried Next boys school shoes for a cheaper alternative? I just had a look and they seem to have a lot of styles.

Precisely wildrose he most probably will need 2 different sizes at least in next school year. So no I don't want to spend a huge amount but also don't want to be lured into the false economy you mentioned!
