Should I keep or return this jacket?

It's actually more of a cardigan. To replace a couple of jersey blazers that are on their last legs. I can't decide if it's a bit mumsy. Try and ignore the weird styling on the site (same school of thought as Cos).

I don't like it. I especially don't like how they have styled in on the model with those awful jeans. Perhaps it would look better if styled differently?

I don't think it's mumsy. It depends on your style and what you wear it with. A blazer would be easier to work but if you love it, go for it.

It would depend. For instance, what would you wear it with? Because it is quite busy pattern-wise it will reduce the amount of clothes it will go with. Have you enough in your wardrobe that won't clash to make this worth the money? Often I see something I like but think - well I only have one outfit that it will go with and so it's not worth the amount they are asking. I would say it's only an everyday coat if you own a lot of quite minimalist/plainer clothing.

Also, I now go with 'if I'm not sure and it's over a tenner, send it back'. I only buy things I am absolutely certain with as I have learned that the things I bought and am unsure about tend to sit in the wardrobe.

PS I don't think it's mumsy, but again it's all down to the styling. With a red lip it could look chic.

With heels and a statement necklace it could look quite Diane Lockheart.

I agree with chirpy I can see this looking good with an all black ensemble of black turtle neck, black slim leg capri pants with black loafers, a red lip, a neat pony tail or sharp bob or pixie cut. Does that sound like you?

I quite like it - particularly with the way you've styled it. It's the kind of thing I'd comment positively on if one of my friends wore it.

I wouldn't pair it with shorts but looks good with skinny jeans.

I think it looks nicer on you than on the model however I still don't like it. Too much going on and you'll get fed up of it so quickly and you'll be known as the woman with the zig-zag coat by your neighbours.

Sorry I don't really like it anyway, but it looks really odd with the shorts.

Styled the way previous posters have said, over an all black outfit, would probably be the best way, but I don't think it's particularly stylish or cool in any way.

I like how you wear it - particularly with the jeans. I quite like a statement jacket, specially in winter when it's just a sea of plain black and grey.

Looks tons better on you than the model so on that basis, keep it.

I took it back and got this instead because, as people mentioned, the pattern meant I was a bit limited to what I could wear it with.

Glad you returned it. I was going to say that it looks like something I saw Clint Eastwood wear - he styled it with a cowboy hat and cigar!

I like what you have got instead. It's also an easier length I think for matching with other clothing.
