Shoe and Bag Help Needed!

Help needed, please, wise S&B people!

I have foolishly and extravagantly blown my budget buying a dress for my brothers wedding at the end of September.
Saw it from following a link on here and then on my way to work(in scruffy gardening clothes), there it was, the only one in the shop and it fitted and I accidentally bought it.
It is beautiful and moves and I can move in it.

Shoes and a bag are needed to go with the dress.
The mothership has advised that non of my shoes are suitable (black hiking boots, black para boots, black heel-less heels, ironfist werewolf heels, furry leopard ankleboot slippers - thats my entire shoe-drobe). Ditto the army surplus collection of bags.

Budget for these is much, much lower. Though I dream of a pair of ballerina rocking horse shoes.

Can anyone make any suggestions of what will go to make me look like a suitably dressed human and do right by the dress and my brother and his awesome GF?

Many thanks in advance.

Please help!

Shamelessly bumping because otherwise I'm going to be shamed by my mother into a pair of her sandals...
And I really don't like my toes out.

I would go block colour heels and matching bag. Asos have 20% off shoes and accessories. If you've blown your budget on (lovely) dress then you might find yourself only being able to afford poorly made, uncomfortable shoes, but it's just for one day

What sort of budget are you looking at? And what kind of shoes do you like? High heels, mid heel, block, flat?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/07/2017 10:24

Lovely dress and an absolute bargain. It sounds like you don't really 'do' shoes or bags usually, so how about buying just some cheapish plain black shoes and then a VW clutch, as you might be more likely o use those again?

Or there will be loads of black clutches around for not v much.

Go to your local town and either to primark or the inside market. You'll get both for £10 there and they aren't always awful. I bring branch of primark does some really nice shoes. I would probably do a wedge shoe - although I would suggest toes out

Or this

Is there something you don't like about 'toes out' ? I would personally pair this with silver/nude shoes and bag combo as black may be too heavy. Doesn't have to be anything fancy as the dress is quite a statement in itself.

4forksake · 26/07/2017 11:11

I agree with black being too dark. I think it needs a pop of colour. Bright pink or red. Or something quirky but I guess that depends on the OP's style!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/07/2017 11:14

I said black because the OP is clearly an alternative type, and might feel more comfortable in black than in silver or brights. I reckon anything goes re a VW dress anyway - normal 'rules' don't apply!

QueenofallIsee · 26/07/2017 11:49

so lovely OP, I have a similar Anglomania dress in grey. I wore mine with a pair of wedges, I notice that you like the ribbon tie wedgy style and agree that Primark is your friend!! I would rock a chunkier shoe because of the delicate pattern (navy or grey if not black)..but I still carry around my emo past fashion wise!

Have you seen you can get these fake rocking horse ballerina style on eBay. The delivery on these ones might be too late for the wedding but you might find others.
