My DD (SN and not good at understanding boundaries) has taken some of my make up
My disposal income is not great but DH usually gets me nice make-up for Xmas
She lost a Clinique mascara and a benefit mascara, I'm gutted
What can I but to replace them until Xmas

If it is seriously budget ones - then go to Wilcos. Essence is the make I believe. I usually go for waterproof as my eyes constantly water. I got two - cannot remember the names. The pale blue tube was not that good but the red and yellow one. Wow. It was a volume and curl one.

Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Curl Mascara - this one for £2.30

Sorry cannot post a link- I am crap at it. There was a big choice but as I say I have to go for waterproof. It was quite creamy 'wet' but did dry.

They were all around £2.30-£3 ish I think.

Also Boots natural range is the cheapest ever. I also like Superdrug - Miss Sporty or Collection ranges. Again I get Waterproof but of course you don't have too!!

OutandIntoday · 22/07/2017 18:43

Boots Natural collection £1.99 - get the Lashlength one. It is so good it is my normal mascara. The lip gloss is good too as is the blusher and all about £2.

Also worth having a trawl through the glossy magazines at the moment. Lots of them with cover freebies during the summer and there's generally a higher end mascara or two among them.

Margaritasbythesea · 22/07/2017 19:17

Essence is great. Be warned though, the waterproof one isn't waterproof. Lovely mascara.

MrsGotobed · 22/07/2017 19:23

Places like B&M Bagains have branded ones like Maybelline much cheaper than they are in Boots, Superdrug etc.

The £shop sometimes have branded ones too - look for the items packed in cellophane bag wrappers with the other make-up.

GingerLemonTea · 22/07/2017 20:08

Red Magazine £4, has a full size Rodial mascara this month

ZootSuit · 22/07/2017 20:12

Another vote for the Essence range from Wilkos, they really are fantastic and only £2-3!
I also got a really nice Maybelline mascara for £3.50 from B&M recently

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 22/07/2017 20:12

I really like No 17 Doll'd Up - black tube with a red lid. I bought it after a recommendation on here - think it's about £6.

SureIusedtobetaller · 22/07/2017 20:14

Nyx - about a fiver, not tested on animals, really good.

Marie Claire also doing free mascara (eyeko) this month x

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/07/2017 20:42

Eyeko are good (though IIRC the magazine has either curlers/eyeliner or mascara so its a lucky dip - providing someone hasn't got there first to pinch it Angry )

I've tried a couple of Nyx but didn't like them.

Aldi do some really cheap ones (couple of £ ) which are good.

My favourite one at the moment is a Kiko one
I don't wear a lot of make-up so I really don't want to spend much on something that I'll use half a dozen times and throw out after 3 months.

On the pricier range, my DD (who does wear make-up daily) likes Too Faced Better than Sex mascara and Tarte Tartiest Lash Paint (or similar name)

MrsChopper · 22/07/2017 20:46

This one is a bit pricier than the other suggestions, but it's a decent dupe for Benefits They're Real mascara!

bonfireheart · 22/07/2017 21:30

Primark mascara is great.

WhingyNinja · 22/07/2017 22:01

I got a mascara from Aldi a month or so back and have had nothing but compliments, I think it was £4! Probably not in stock right now but I bet it'll be back soon. It's in a turquoise tube.

mortificado · 22/07/2017 22:13

Boots natural collection £1.99 lash length brilliant!

SuperSange · 22/07/2017 22:17

I bought the false lash mascara from primark a few months ago, and have just repurchased. It's every bit as good as the Lancôme one I used to buy.

AncientRain · 22/07/2017 22:33

Thanks all.
I can spend up to £10 just not to the cost of Clinique. I'll have a look at your suggestions

Any maybeline. I can't use rimmel/collection on my eyes as it makes them water, but maybeline seem to be fine.

Botanicbaby · 23/07/2017 00:21

Just get Max Factor 2000 calorie. The best for under a tenner! Smile

Cakescakescakes · 23/07/2017 01:05

Boots 17 Doll'd Up is a good dupe for Benefit Roller Lash.

affectionincoldclimate · 23/07/2017 02:49

L'Oréal Telescopic. I actually left "designer" mascaras for it and never looked back and always get so many comments on my lashes I converted a few more people to it. It's about 10-11 quid or if it's 3 for 2 in Superdrug it's even cheaper.

KimchiLaLa · 23/07/2017 02:50

L'Oréal telescopic is great. I was just in Canada and bought miss manga as it was on offer and meant to be cheaper and it's not great, don't bother.

TheCraicDealer · 23/07/2017 13:07

Thanks for this thread OP- I got a Charlotte Tilburry mascara a few months ago at £20+ and it's shit. It just comes off on your brow bone or under your eye within another four hours of wear. Made me ask myself wtf I was playing at paying that for mascara, so after I use up my Too Faced Better Than Sex one I'm back on the drugstore variety. Will definitely check out the L'Oréal one.

Allwashedup · 23/07/2017 13:09

Essence mascara is excellent 👌👌
