Foundation? With photo :)

Can you help me find a new foundation?

I'm 37. My skin isn't particularly dry or oily, I don't currently wear foundation. I find it hard to know what to do with my freckles. I have ever darkening shadows under my eyes, large pores on my nose and a tendency to be red faced and sweaty. Aren't I a catch?? 😆

Any foundation ideas for me?

Apologies for ludicrous photo. I don't really have tattoos over my eyes. No foundation would cover that!!

I think you have lovely, clear skin and would be a shame to use a deep coverage there. I love this CC cream, it's light, not too sheer and allows the skin to breath. Lasts well. You could then just use a little concealer/corrector under your eyes. www.escentual.com/lrprosaliaccc001/

I second that CC as well. I sometimes have high colouring due to very high blood pressure and find this 'softens' withought caking. It is quite creamy though so no good for oily skin.

PurpleDaisies · 22/07/2017 19:06

I really like the touché eclat foundation which is really light and just looks like normal skin. It doesn't feel like you're wearing any make up.

Ridingthegravytrain · 22/07/2017 19:08

I agree your skin is really good. I'm the same age and wish mine was that clear!

Ridingthegravytrain · 22/07/2017 19:09

Sorry, as in agree with tinted moisturiser or cc cream. I use double wear and find it great over the pores and not too drying or heavy

Snozwanger · 22/07/2017 19:26

I don't think you should cover your freckles. I use a CC cream like the other posters suggested as it's very light. I would also recommend a light reflecting concealer for under your eyes. I use L'Oreal's Touché Magique which is reasonably priced at about £8. I can never find my shade in most chemists so just order it with free delivery from HQHair.

Max Factor miracle illusion applied with damp beauty blender.

I have the same colouring and need Warm Almond - don't be alarmed it looks loads darker in the compact than when applied and cancels out redness a treat but doesn't mask freckles un naturally. Half the price on eBay. I repeat by it,amazing stuff.

Venusflytwat · 22/07/2017 19:34

Brilliant, thank you all, I will get shopping! And thanks for nice words too :)

Oops it's called Miracle Touch

Ktown · 22/07/2017 19:39

I wouldn't wear foundation if I were you, or if you do then dilute it down or use a light tinted moisturiser or cc cream.
You have good skin so don't cover it!

PollyPerky · 22/07/2017 19:58

If you can take a trip to a store and have a make up lesson with Bobbi Brown or Clinique.

B Brown do some good foundations all based on the idea of enhancing skin not covering it up.

You do have freckles which are okay but are you using spf25+ daily too?
If not your freckles will eventually all join up and you will look older with lots of brown pigmentation on your cheeks.

SPF under foundation every day!

PopGoesTheWeaz · 22/07/2017 20:04

My skin is similarch and I use touche eclat which is very light coverage or chanel vitalumiere which is slightly heavier coverage but still quite light or a powder foundation from Lily Lolo which is also very light but you can layer it on for more coverage if you want.

None of these hide my freckles but it does even everything out and I look more finished without looking like I'm wearing makeup (except for the chanel one). I always found tinted moisterisers and cc creams made my skin the wrong colour but maybe I was picking the wrong ones.

GingerLDN · 22/07/2017 20:12

Benefit do a nice one Hello Flawless! Oxygen Wow. Also Estée Lauder doublewear light.

Venusflytwat · 22/07/2017 21:20

Polly my moisturiser is SPF15 but I have come to the same conclusion; am going to up it. Thanks :)

Right, have ordered the Max Factor and the La Roche Posay. I live in the middle of nowhere so not easy to get to a make up counter.

I went through the Touché Eclat colour matcher thing but it didn't have my nearest shades in stock; if these two don't work I'll take a trip somewhere.

Any recommendations for under eye circles, will those give enough cover or should I buy something else? I have a cheap concealer but it's a bit crap and too light.

Any good high SPF moisturiser recommendations? I like a few freckles but am a bit worried they'll all join up soon.

Look at me growing up Wink

Don't bother with an spf moisturiser. You're better with an actual sunscreen. La Roche posts anthelios is really good.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/07/2017 22:19

Make sure you apply with a damp BB , you get a much more sheer finish . Don't use the pathetic sponge that comes in the compact.

Venusflytwat · 22/07/2017 23:57

Dame what's a damp BB??

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/07/2017 23:59

Bloody hell,that's a big link!

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 23/07/2017 00:00

Freckles are a sign of youth! As a 38 year old with medium dark skin I think you should use something light to cover redness but not anything too heavy
