Which foundations do you recommend?

I hope some of you ladies can help me. I'm going shopping today to get some new Foundation. I normally wear double wear but fancy a change.

Which ones would you recommend? Want a good one, not at an extortionate price but willing to fork out a bit for a decent one!

Thanks.

I quite like the boujois healthy mix foundation - its only around £12 but works well for me, especially if I forget to order my usual one.

Hi
I usually use double wear but my second favourite is revlon colourstay. I use the combination/oily one but they also do normal to dry as well. I have tried loads of foundations and found these two the best for matching skin and staying on well. The Colourstay is 12.99 at Boots so pretty reasonable.

Good luck, will keep an eye on this thread for any recommendations that I haven't tried.

xx

I use Lancome Teint Miracle. Its not cheap but lasts me for months and is the best I've ever had.

I don't know what to suggest but know I'm in bed of an intervention. I use eldw and it evens out the wild variations in colour resulting from rosacea, but it sits on my face and is so obvious. I yearn for something that looks creamier.

I use Lancôme Teint Idole. Lasts well, and comes in fair-enough shades for my very pale complexion.

Chantecaille Future Skin - I absolutely love it. I used Clinique supermoisture for years and was really upset when they withdrew it, but then found Chantecaille, which is 100x better. It is a bit expensive (I paid £63 last time) but lasts for ages and stays on during the day better than any other foundation I've tried. I tend to pay up for decent foundation and powder but buy cheaper brands for things like mascara and blusher, so it balances out a bit.

Armani power fabric x

I like reckon colourstay. I used to get the oily one as my skin is on the oily side but am now 37 and love the dry skin one. A bit more glow to it but with powder, it doesn't go shiny at all.

Thanks everyone! I'll let you know how I get on xx

Armani power fabric (armani foundations are great for full coverage)

Nars all day luminous is a dream

Nars. Bare minerals. Tom ford. Mac.

Callamia · 22/07/2017 15:31

Laura mercier mineral powder. Ive used it for about three years, and I'm totally sold on it. I buy two per year, and don't use much else.

Bluesheep8 · 22/07/2017 15:41

Bare Minerals gets another vote from me, have used it for about 15 years now and wouldn't consider using anything else

OMFL · 22/07/2017 16:26

@Bluesheep8 🖐moma! You know that shits easy to use! You don't even need to look in the mirror 😂

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/07/2017 16:28

Max Factor Miracle Illusion

stoplickingthetelly · 22/07/2017 16:39

I really like the YSL touche eclat one. But probably not great if you have oily skin. Mine is more on the dry side, just a slight bit of shine on T zone.

disillusionedteacher · 22/07/2017 17:37

So I ended up going for a Mac one. I didn't even mean to as I have heard mixed reviews about their foundations but I had to stop at the counter to get a brow pencil and they swooped on me like a swarm of vultures on a defenceless creature...I was powerless. Fingers crossed I will like it...they did give me a tester to try on my whole face before I open the actual bottle so can return it if not.

Thanks again for the suggestions-I will keep them for future reference! Xx

Disillusioned - must have been a quiet day at the Mac counter then. Normally when I go past it is swarming with customers!!!

disillusionedteacher · 22/07/2017 19:45

Deathray- it was pretty quiet. There were about 15 make up artists working though!
