Wedding tomorrow. Forecast is pissing it down! Church wedding and reception a short walk away.
I have an outfit of pastel dress white shoes and shawl/pashmina!
I have a bright yellow pac a mac and a smart navy mac! My brolly is red!
Wtf do wedding guests wear in pissing down rain!

It gets worse. My kids have walking jackets/macs.

Do you have time to go shopping today? What shops have you got near you?

oldtrees · 21/07/2017 10:47

Google suggests a see-through rainmac. Hmm, dunno.

Wet wedding! What to wear?

New Look do one for £9 in the sale.

Suspect this is one of those things that seems like a logical solution but not great in reality. Like, if it was hot and rainy, would the inside steam up with condensation? Nice! Hmm

Maybe I'm just an old cynic though?!

MommaGee · 21/07/2017 10:49

Wear you most protective coat and umbrella. They won't do photos in the rain. Everyone will be like this outside. It won't matter. Same for kids.

However is rethink white shoes

oldtrees · 21/07/2017 10:50

If most of the wedding is inside, and it's just a short walk then I reckon best not to to worry so much about what you look like and instead wear your most waterproof jackets to protect your lovely clothes for the indoors bits.

oldtrees · 21/07/2017 10:51

Cross posts!

Maybe wear / get some funky wellies for the walking bit?

SunnySomer · 21/07/2017 10:55

Agree with MommaGee - waterproof coat, golfing umbrella. If your shoes would not tolerate water, then a pair of shoes for the short walk that you can leave in a bag with your coat.
Everyone will be in the same boat (hopefully not literally!) and it will be fine.

Ok thanks for the tips abd advice. My main concern was looking rubbish for the photos. Not for myself but for the bride and groom to look back on.
We have an outlet shopping centre i could pop to later after work.

You could buy a transparent dome umbrella such as those used by the Queen. I think she uses Fulton.

Sciurus83 · 21/07/2017 17:39

Get a fancy umbrella

Emboo19 · 21/07/2017 19:50

How short a walk?
I'd probably just do a umbrella, a dome one will protect your make up better. If shoes are leather, they should be fine.

For kids just take pac a macs.

Pistachiois50pmore · 21/07/2017 20:11

Take the brolly and the smart navy mac for outside (maybe flat shoes too?) then stash them in a cloakroom as soon as you can. Everyone will be in the same boat!

Deathraystare · 22/07/2017 19:39

I do feel for you. Hope the wedding went off well and you enjoyed yourself despite the rain!
