Which dress for wedding next week

Hi all!

I'm a regular but I've name changed as I don't want my picture to out me. Just wondering which dress your collective wisdom thinks is best for a wedding next week. It's in quite a fancy looking hotel, starts at 3pm. I have red court shoes for the bike print one and greyish stilettos for the flowery one. I'm not sure if the bikes are not really formal enough...any opinions? Thanks in advance!

Floral definitely

Hairq · 19/07/2017 22:48

Floral because it's more weddingy and fits you better. LOVE the bike one but it's more casual and looks a bit big for you.

myrtleWilson · 19/07/2017 22:49

I love them both and you'll be comfortable and look amazing in either of them but the fact you made the bike one yourself would tip my vote in its favour - it looks fabulous!!!

Flamingosarepink · 19/07/2017 22:57

Both beautiful. Floral for the wedding.

The bike one is quite funky. I love it. Id wear that any day. Ive started to wear dresses a bit more recently after having a few just sitting in the wardrobe waiting for an occassion. I find flat sandals and a denim jacket or cardi can help dress down something i feel too dressy for every day wear. What i do find is i get alot of compliments from strangers when i wear my dresses! Which being 45 and chubby is quite something for me!
Enjoy the wedding!Smile

I might try to alter the bike one a bit for a better fit if I can. You've given me the confidence to wear it out, so thank you! But I think the general feeling is right; I'll wear the floral to the wedding, and the bikes for more casual days out. Thanks so much for all the responses!

And thanks for the ideas flamingos. I do like to wear dresses, but I think I should try "dressing down" otherwise dressy ones, as otherwise they'll never see the light of day! How lovely to get compliments from strangers, I bet you look great!

The bike dress is amazing. Totally love it. So fab. Great job. I wish could sew.

LesisMiserable · 19/07/2017 23:17

The floral one looks amazing on you 😊

WhichDressWitchDress · 19/07/2017 23:47

Thanks Les! You are all very lovely!

SoFar, I wouldn't be too impressed, I'm still very much learning. This has taken me about 6 months, 3 goes at the neckline and 5 attempts at the zip Grin.

I originally thought floral but now you've said you made the bike one yourself I'd wear it with pride-it's fantastic!

I'd swop the red sash for a skinny red belt but other than that it's perfect.

Rioja123 · 20/07/2017 07:37

I think the floral looks smarter and more suited for a wedding than the bikes, which is lovely but would be better for a day out in the sun or a picnic.

WhichDressWitchDress · 20/07/2017 22:08

Thank you both. I'm very pleased people think the dresses are nice, you've given me lots of confidence!
I really appreciate everyone's comments, thank you all x

Wear the one you made!!! That's so great and it looms fabilous. Be proud, and it will be a conversation topic with drunk aunties at the disco!

Blogwoman · 20/07/2017 23:05

Wow you made that fab bike dress OP! So impressed. Lovely neckline; I'm not surprised it took you a few attempts. I love the red sash too. Certainly fit for a wedding or more casual days.

WhichDressWitchDress · 20/07/2017 23:05

Haha! I will have quite a few drunk aunties to talk to...you may have a point Grin
