Birkenstocks

I'm not sure that this belongs in 'style' but never mind.

How comfortable are Birkenstocks? I see a lot of people wearing them but are they really comfortable? I'm not the thinnest of people but we are soon going on a holiday which will involve a lot of walking round town and most sandals are not that supportive and I get heel pain.

Very comfortable especially the new expensive soft bed ones. I got a pair off ebay, hardly worn but I wear them all the time.

Supremely comfortable. I love the
Arch support

personally I would recommend Fitflops, but a pair that has a heel strap. They are very comfortable but expensive. Mine are in their third summer of pretty much constant use and great to avoid heel pain.

I can't get used to birkenstocks because the heal is a bit too low and not enough arch support.

they are SO comfortable - perfect for city breaks or any other holiday with lots of walking

get them a good couple of weeks before you go though, in order to break in the leather, and let the footbed mould to your foot.

I adore mine, but I only wear the Madrid style. They do take a week to 'wear-in' though, but then they are the most comfortable summer shoe I have. I have a moderately wide foot and find their so-called 'narrow' fit is best.

Thanks, I've ordered a pair for £40 which are the Arizona soft bed ones. We go in a fortnight so I'll wear them in before.

Hope you enjoy them!
Personally, I prefer Fitflop sandals but Birkenstocks are very comfortable.

I ordered some on Amazon recently. I thought the seller was in America but they are being delivered by China Post. I have now been told to expect 28 days until delivery. Next time, I'll just buy direct from Birkenstock. I might have to pay £20 more but summer is going to be over before they arrive...
I hope this is genuine merchandise.

I got €10 off my first purchase by signing up to the Birkenstock site's newsletter.
Personally I find the popular toe post (Gizeh ?) model doesn't give my outer toes enough restraint so I prefer the model with "big toe and full toes" crossover straps. Forgotten the name.

Mayari
I've been wearing this style by other brands with a 2/3 cm corky platform for four years and they've taken me all through the summers. The Birkenstock are flat, so a bit more clumpy. Just as comfortable, though.

I love birkenstocks!
I just wish I could learn to love their non-sandal shoes, then I could live in them all year around.
