My hole has closed up

Earring hole that is. I just went to put in some earrings having not worn any for a while and it is really hard to get one of them so I reckon the hole has closed up. Can I 're-pierce' it using an earring or do I need to go to a pro?

Hold an ice cube over it then ram it in.

How bad can it be?

Gotanewusernamenow · 19/07/2017 14:05

I would nip in to a shop.you could make it bleed if you force the skin.then would be sore etc.

mrsbumbum · 19/07/2017 14:06

Hadn't thought about ice cube. Was thinking more along the gin line.

Have you had a good squeeze? sometimes it can get blocked with gunk.

MrsPMT · 19/07/2017 14:13

I thought mine were closed up, couldn't get earring in, but opened up with blunt end of a needle, a bit eye-watering but did work.

Ollivander84 · 19/07/2017 14:14

Try an earring and some lube on it

rightknockered · 19/07/2017 14:21

I have this problem. Too chicken to force an ear-ring into it. I'm getting it re-done. Might get a couple more while I'm there

mrsbumbum · 19/07/2017 14:23

ooh yes hadn't thought about lube! And also like the idea of getting more holes!

I've cube then use the earring to re pierce it. I do it now and again with my second holes.

PollyPerky · 19/07/2017 14:24

Nice title to get attention, give you that !

You don't need to ram it through, just get it started and some gentle wiggling will sort it out. I very rarely wear earrings and always do this - it doesn't hurt, and is fairly quick to do.

Dowser · 19/07/2017 14:32

Germolene...pink...that should do the trick.

furryelephant · 19/07/2017 14:56

I pierced my own ears many a time-- in my teenage years Grintry and find the thinnest earring you have and push it through! Or sterilise a sewing pin type thing and whack it through. Then leave it in for a while so when you take it out to put an earring through it doesn't just disappear.

Not professional advice just my own very safe experience

Sometimes there is more of a hole behind the ear, and if you go back to front you have a clear view of where you should be aiming.
