How many evening outfits would you take away for 10 nights abroad?

Will you be out every night or staying in say a villa some nights?

Loveagoodbook · 17/07/2017 19:23

We are staying in a hotel. I have pair of shorts with 2 tops, trousers, dresses and a skirt. Would you say this is enough?

Have 2x20kg cases between. Family of 5, but also taking 4 cabin cases

For me 10 nights = 5 outfits - mix and match and wear twice.

So x3 maxis - navy, black & a floral or print. Beaded sandals - gold pair and the same in silver to wear with each dress (6 nights)

2 pairs of wide-legged trousers - white and black plus strappy floaty tops that go with each pair (one plain and one print) (4 nights). Same beaded sandals as above.

Gold and silver jewellery to go with each outfit and mix and match, plus one neutral metallic bag.

Just back from 12nights away, I took too much, however I used... everything doubled up and worn twice.
1 black maxi dress (gold jewellery/cream beads. Black sandals, cream bead and straw clutch, black across body bag)
1 navy jersey midi dress (silver jewellery/silver sandals/clutch - tan belt/ cream beads/tan wedges/straw clutch)
Black silk mix shirt dress (silver jewellery/sandals/clutch - gold jewellery/tan wedges/straw clutch)
White linen dress (the next one) (navy and gold statement necklace, bracelets and studs/tan wedges/straw clutch - black sandals/ black clutch/black beaded bracelets and dangly earrings)
Navy 7/8 trousers (cream top/gold jewellery/tan belt and wedges - black silk shell top/black sandals/clutch/ silver jewellery)
Teal wrap dress (black/silver as above-mentioned).

Dresses are easiest, one piece and can mix up.

Last 2 holidays I took 3 dresses and wore them on rotation, so 3 times each.

This year... I'll have 4 Smile

None! I dress up every day for work.

If we go out for dinner on holiday I wear nice trousers with a pretty top that can be worn on days out too or a simple summer dress equally wearable in the day time with a pashmina or nice cardigan.

I take one pair of smart flats and sandals.

That tends to do for a month but we do villa rather than hotel holidays.

Dailystuck71 · 23/07/2017 11:04

I've just done a week. For evenings I took 3 dresses and rotated.

OhWellNeverMindEh · 24/07/2017 08:06

I'm the worst packer, if away for 10 days, I take 10 day outfits and 10 night outfits plus an array of shoes, bags and jewellery. I have clothes I only wear on hols, so want to get use out of them!

I do the same for all the kids too Smile

I don't own ten summer evening and ten summer day outfits. We do own the villa though Grin

OhWellNeverMindEh · 24/07/2017 08:28

Well I know what I'd rather have..........the villa Grin

I have just got back from a week away. I took 3 x shorts, 2 x trousers and three dresses from www.zoevine.com which I ended up wearing every evening. But I always end up spending all day in my swimming costumes (from www.forluna.co.uk) sarong and flip flops! And now back to England and the gloomy weather!
