...What style of swimsuit do you wear?

I’m now happy ish with my figure clothed, and I’m learning how get the best from my new shape. But finding a swimming cossie is an ordering, trying and sending-back disaster.

My problem areas are loose/flabby skin around my lower belly and empty boobs. I need low/brief-cut legs and something to contain the extra belly skin. Possibly a bit of ruching. I need some delineation between bust and belly, but overly supportive or push-up tops are problematic, as I often end up with empty cups or a weird shaped bust. I think I’m looking for a one-piece, though I’m not against trying a bikini if something flattering even exists (though not sure how that would contain the belly issue).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone found a style that works?

I picked up the 2 swimsuits from sainsburys.

The black one as recommended on here didn't really work for me. The bottom half of it with the tummy control was great, but my bust was completely squashed into the top part - leading to a sort of flat chested look with overspill...

The halter on the other hand is a real contender. I think a pp had suggested halter neck as flattering and it's also got tummy control. However there's no other bust support other than the neck strap, which means it's not as comfortable as I'd like. Also I'm not crazy about the haphazard placement of the print. But this is a real bargain compared with some of the more spendy ones I've been trying.

Notagain it's great to hear you have the confidence to wear a bikini. I've been trying on loads and I'm wondering if I can get away with the ones that come with those vintage style big knickers.

wilting good to hear that you're a fan of seafolly too - I've discovered some of their bikinis tops fit really well.

Sesame would you consider a high waist bikini bottom with a bra size top? They would hold in the tummy and allow you proper busy support too.

I have this one. My boobs are still big after weightloss but somewhat deflated. This one has bralike support and doesn't squash them down. Disguises my loose tummy skin too.

rinceoir I think that's nearly it - I'm going to look for bikini separates with a higher waisted bottom, but maybe a dress size bra. I think the reality is I'm more flat chested in shape after the weight loss, I just have a lot of skin that also needs to be contained within the cups - hence the need for support. I could size up to get the extra space in the top. Now I think the style of the top needs to either be halter or something 'bulky' or designed so that the top half looks more in proportion to the big knickers.

fabulous that's a weird link, but if it's the Panache Veronica it doesn't seem to be for sale anymore in the usual outlets. But I can see what you're on about with the support - I might have a look for a one piece in that sort of brand and style.

Now I've a clearer idea of what to look for I think I might go into town later and see what they've got in the department stores.

Take a look at ASOS. They do mix and match bikinis- so can choose the bottoms and then a top that might suit.
