Going from bleech to natural smart hair

Gosh, I need advice.
I have natural dark brown hair, but have been having bleech blonde highlights for nearly a year now. I am wondering whether to carry on or go back to home coloring in a natural dark brown. Is it healthier to have beech highlights every 6weeks or to have an all over dark color every 6-8weeks do you think?

Bleach is more damaging longer term although permanent colour is not damage free itself.

How is the condition of your hair with the bleach?

I have very fine hair. My hairdresser says it's still in good condition, but the ends are dry I think, I'm sure it's going thinner!!!

A compromise could be balayage. I have dark hair and was fed up with highlights every 6-8 weeks because of the roots. So now its darker at the roots with blonde blended through and looks quite natural and means I don't have to go to the hairdressers as often.

I have very fine hair too which is highlighted. I wouldn't say it's in brilliant condition but it's not got any worse past a certain point iykwim!

Be careful with doing an at home brown dye over blonde. It can turn a bit green. It's probably best to have it dyed brown in a salon the first time.
If you're naturally dark brunette, I'd say go for it. Dyed dark hair always looks much glossier and in better condition than bleached. I always think hair looks better when you keep within a few shades of your natural colour.
