Anyone been in the shop? I need to shop for new make up for work (returning after maternity leave, feeling a bit old and frumpy) and I like the look of the stuff they stock but I need to go somewhere where I can get advice, properly try stuff etc. Do they do anything like there there? Is there anywhere else I should try? I don't like Mac as I prefer a much lighter make up look, I just want to look like a more polished version of me. Thanks.

A colleague of mine just returned from maternity leave into a promotion and was raving about Selfridges in Manchester (Bobbi Brown & Charlotte Tilbury counters in particular) for giving her great advice and a mini overhaul.

Thanks for the tip. Do you know if she had to make an appointment or just turn up? Not had great experiences with department store make up counters in the past but haven't ever tried Selfridges.

She just turned up but went mid week early in the morning so it was a lot quieter. She said that one of the Bobbi Brown women was brilliant at checking her lifestyle - ie how much time will you have in the morning to do this - and tailor the products/look etc to that.

The staff at Bobbi Brown in Harvey Nicks are always really good.
